A client of ours just let a coworker know he has a few thousand hot wheels, johnny lightning and matchbox cars in package from the 60s through 1995 ( he was sure of that date) and asked us if we knew anyone who may be interested...

The unsuspecting person might have thought my desk was equipped with an ejection option as I flew around the corner to learn of his "problem"

He just "wants to get rid of them."

I might know a person... (cough...cough...ME!!!!!)

I don't want to get my hopes up, but as the collection he has come into stopped growing in 1995, I at least know it wont be full of early 2000s crap.

3) Finally, I got that mysterious CMS/CM's brand Subie. What did I think of the quality? I just ordered two more.

Do a international search on these. Most cool rally cars they released are sold for around $9, shipping included. Original MSRP being around $7, it's a bargain, considering. Love Kyosho, but I still have hard time with the 300~400% markup commonly seen on eBay.

Edit: The car comes with bunch of antennas you can attach on its' roof, too. Money. In the bank. 👍

Hey Jason. After IKEA's $1 breakfast tomorrow morning, I'm going to see if they got the same shadow boxes you've been stocking up on. I've decided to frame a couple of cars in my room as means of storage since the tote's all filled up.


By couple I mean a few hundred. Oooohhhh. Btw, what dimensions did you make for each slot? I don't remember where you dumped that tutorial.pdf link of yours.

Each frame holds 84 cars. At my dimensions longer castings won't fit. So adjust your measurements accordingly.

AOS likes the Ford, Cano likes the London Holiday Renault...

Those are the two cars I bought the lot for! I've already placed them in their respective cases. The other are doubles, or in the case of the Lambo, triples, for me.

No I won't. Like I said, my main thing was the Sandblaster, I forgot to bid on it when I bought the other two. Land Cruiser would be a pretty sweet bonus. I hope you win the extra one!

Got my Hakosuka and R5 a couple days ago. Totally in love with the Hako, the stance and proportions are so perfect. R5 is really nice too, just wish it wasn't lime green. I hope we see an orange and black 432r type 240Z, with Imai at the helm I won't be surprised if one appears. I'll have to jump on it ASAP though.

And I have to say this upcoming Boulevard set is just looking fantastic.

Now I gotta get this 5-pack. That Nero Daytona P4 and the Blu Tour De France FXX is mine, MINE!!!! Now I want a Ferrari 5pack with the F50 in a different color (have the Blu France F50 one) and a F40.

Haven't gotten the 612 yet, so I'm definitely going to get that 5-pack!

Stopped by TRU today and did find some Shelby 5-packs, haven't seen them for a month or so after people posted some up until now. Might pick one up...

Apologies, Phil, but a lot of the painting contracts that came up in December were put off by me - but the clients never give up on me (I shouldn't be grumbling ) As soon as the holidays were over the phone starts ringing off the hook again. So yes, don't find much time to post, though I dip into GTP if I'm stuck waiting somewhere - like in a lineup, or in the morning before I take off. I've neglected a lot of my more creative threads, as well as some of the more hotter discussions - but hopefully I'll find some time this weekend.

Bought the RIBBAs. They only had the 50x50 frames in white and so I picked up two.

Did some math on the way home and if I size the slot widths to 3" for most non-boxy US cars, I can fit 6 cars in that dimension. If I size it to 3 1/4" which will fit the longer cars, then that's 5 cars.

If I do 1" for the height dimension-which the majority of my cars fit under, I can fit 16 of them. If I do 1 1/4" to accommodate for taller vehicles, I can fit 13 cars.

If I went with 3 1/4" x 1", that's 80 cars. If I do 3" x 1", 96 cars.

If I do 3 1/4" x 1 1/4", that's 65 cars, and if I do 3" x 1 1/4", 78 cars.

With two frames, my options are:

1. 80 cars, low chances of cars not fitting length-wise, moderate chance of not fitting height-wise.
2. 96 cars, which would fit most of my cars, with the only concern being length issues.
3. 65 cars, which would fit almost anything I have.
4. 78 cars, no height issues, occasional length issues.

I'm going to have a run through of my cars to see how many are under 3" x 1". If I can pull out 192 cars with these dimensions, I'll go with that.
