I should share pics of the current load on my totes.

I've one big one that's consumed by Shelby Cobras, '63 T-Birdss and '66 Novas. There's still room for about another 40-50 cars in that one.

Then there are the two clear totes of larger capacity. Since the day I sold off a bunch of stuff, these totes have been under 40% capacity. Judging from the direction of product consumption I'm heading in, if I continue to reserve all that extra space for future recolours (for whatever castings are already present), I can probably go for 6 years until reaching max capacity.*

My smaller tote for everything else (i.e. Kyosho, Minichamps, CM's, whatever other boxed items) has reach 96% capacity. Didn't anticipate a change of direction when I got these totes. But the K'Nex wall shelf is meant to be the solution to limited space. I won't disclose any further detail until the project's done. ;)

I think I'm going to be set on this frame pattern.

The platforms are light on material and it's rigid with four connection points at each corner. The cross frame reduces a lot of the lateral flex, and it replaces the heavier weight of an 8-way connector grid.

*based on the rate at which desired castings are re-released from 2013 to 2014.

Man, pretty spendy for one. For reference, thread organizers are good for 48 cars at about $9 for the case. Tackle boxes I think I pay about $6.50? That one will house roughly 24 oversized cars.

Thread Organizers = 19 cents per car

Tackle Cases = 27 cents per car

For me, the appeal of those individual cases you guys use would be storage. I can put the cars in the individual cases, then store them in tupperware-type storage boxes, which would be uber-compact. @AOS- How much do your standard size cases cost, per case, with shipping?

It's a serious hit & miss here, too. I don't know if you've seen it, but GL has Ford Dealership set? I was like, no way my TRU would ever stock it. I buy online, within what felt like couple of weeks, they have bunch on the shelf(one of them had Green Machine in it :grumpy:).

I'm glad to hear that online prices isn't that far off the local stock price. There are more of the hitch & tow series coming out over next couple of months I believe. 👍

It seems that way a lot with TRU. Especially Greenlight... They'll stock up a bunch of stuff at the most random of times and never restock them when they run low. Most annoyingly though, they seemed to have given up on organizing stuff and just stuck Matchbox pegs randomly in the middle of the Greenlight and M2 pegs. It's such a mess... And of course, the one Greenlight that always stays consistently on the shelves is the police cars.

Speaking of the Ford dealership set, I've suddenly become more interested in collecting more of the mainstream cars... I do want the Ford Fiesta, Fusion, and possibly even the Escape. For some very odd reason. Also, speaking of dealerships, I need to get the Chrysler dealership once it comes out.

I totally respect your decision, and definitely not trying plant a thought in your head(:P), but man, those display things just scream "LEGO!". For me personally, they took too much away from the beautiful cars on the display. Again, that's just me, but I'm right.

Love you Andy. :P

I totally agree on TRU minicar aisle organizational. Greenlight was working on the Chrysler Dealer set, right? I could swear I've seen a pic of that somewhere, or did I imagine it?

They do scream Lego, but Basic K'Nex > Basic Lego. :P

I do agree they do take away some attention from the cars. I was thinking of laying down foamcore to cover up the backboard and platform.... If I really want, I could even run plasti-dip on the finished grid with a single flat colour. Thanks for your honest opinion. Sometimes, when you get so into a project (esp. ones you have a geeky obsession with), you tend to dismiss the sillier things.

75 cents each.

I'd save up money and spend it online.

40 smalls for $10. That's 25 cent per. There's shipping, but you're probably looking at $20 at most. Buy like 150 more cases than your current collection count, talk to the seller to negotiate the possibility of a bulk discount to make the most out of your shipping fee.

Save yourself plenty of moolahs rather than paying an extra 50 cents per case. If you do the math, this works out to be a more cost-effective solution, even if there's a shipping fee.

All those cases will last you for 2-3 years if you pick up HWs at the pace you do, maybe more if you don't do any online shopping.

I bought my load some time last year and I still have a good 30% remaining.

Got a 2004 Final Run Hot Wheels model: Porsche 911 Carrera.

Well actually, it's a Carrera RS 2.7, since it has a red "Carrera" stripe.

I'm off work rest of the week, so I've just now decided to go look for Bluebird wagon tonight...... I have to remember to avoid downtown Portland area, due to Ferguson protesters blocking roads(for while there, even freeways). Wish me luck, but don't worry, I'm not holding my breath. I've yet to see a single Bluebird wagon.

@Spacegoat - I'm also getting new light bulbs(old one took a dump) so I can start taking pics again. Did you get your BR-Z yet? Mine arrive today. It's everything Cano don't want it to be. She's a beaut. :P

Pics! Pics!

Actually, I cheated & googled it. Looks very cool. 👍

There is a neat story about that. I will post it on Lamley tomorrow...

Cool beans, looking forward to it. 👍

No dice, hasn't arrived yet. Fingers crossed that it will in the next couple of days though, I want my Town Ace! And thanks for the report on the BRZ.

So I'm working on a slight change in backdrop/lighting. Which one do you guys like the most?

rtL85Lk.jpg

1st is gloss card, the rest are white acrylic. If I didn't overdo the highlights, we'd see a reflection on the floor. The last 4 are variants of colour balance and positioning of the light, creating low/high contrast.

@AOS- First one, as long as the colors are accurate.

I just got back from the visit to three Walmart. Two of them struck out convincingly. The big store though, it did not let me down. No, no Bluebird, but after I found this M2, I was so happy, I was like, "what Bluebird?" I'll post a pic tonight or tomorrow. 👍

Good news for me, blue Townace look quite nice. I don't know about $14(or whatever) nice, but I am pleased with it. 👍 P.S. It's spelled "Townace" on the box, but I think AmiAmi had it as Town Ace.

My cars, 1st on left is 1991 Ford Thunderbird Snickers 8 1:66 Matchbox, 2nd 1991 Ford Thunderbird Bill Elliott 11 1:66 Matchbox with a white Serial number "BE-AMI 1992", 3rd Kinsmart 2006 Ford GT 1/36 Serial Number "KT 5092", 4th Bburago Lamborghini Diablo 1/43 Made in Italy, 5th Mazda RX-7 Serial Number "6023 Mazda RX-7" don't know who it's made by ? 6th Tootsietoy 1994 Ford Mustang. The links are just to give you a better idea of what they look like I don't have a good camera.

I like the Ford GT, but that's probably not a 1/64.

My recent purchases:

Tomica BRZ, TLV Toyota Townace & Kyosho Nissan R382.

Couple of Gulliver64 Japanese Taxis

Few local mainlines

Mustang is from tonight. Only mainline worth picking up.

And here's the M2 I found tonight, which I've been after for weeks.

I really thought this one I had no choice, but to order one online. I still can't believe I found one this late in the game. :)👍

My Bburago Lamborghini Diablo 1/43 Made in Italy is worth about $55.04.
Online pricing can be everywhere. Of course, there are listed prices & prices buyers are actually willing to pay.
hsv
Which one? Those three couldn't be more different from one other.

I think the Lamborghini Diablo is the best car I have I did have better ones when I was younger I do remember the NASCAR's came with 2 trucks and many more cars that I lost.

Specially with those mainlines, wtf.

Speaking of mainlines, Hot Wheels are still downpriced over here and Wal Mart have been chock-full restocking of 2015 cases. Yesterday I gots me this thing:

And it absolutely rocks the socks. Excelent for customs as well, a pity there was only one! But rest assured Imma grab like 5 to turn them into more normal truck contramptions, as the cab is quite awesome-looking.
