Well I suspect that you will cheat, and mark this Silvia as your second ever TLV purchase just to showcase it a bit more, no? I mean, it hasn't been shown enough as far as I know...

Joke aside, not enough screws can be said towards you, so I'll just tip all my hats and say that my TLV dream list has grown by one, once again thanks to you of course. 👍

Enlighten me on this, Bonsai-jiisan, but what is the difference between the soon-to-be-released casting and the one you bought? It isn't the rims, so it has to be something else...

I had to come to Spain to find it, but I finally have the red Castrol Escort. It was in a three pack with my first Bone Shaker and some rubbish military off road thing. Once I get the white Castrol Escort, I'll put it with the red one and the white with blue road car.

Joke aside, I do dig the later Silvia casting's pop-up headlights setup moreso than the current TLV Silvia casting one. And of course, pop-up headlights make all cars 45% cooler (it's a known fact), so a Super Silhouette TLV car can only gain bonus points for having such a thing...

I wasn't familiar with the extent of changes made between the two cars, but according to Wikipedia, to my surprise, it was just new front end design + taillights borrowed from the new Silvia. The race car was still basically the last gen 1982 Silvia.

Bollocks. They're easily one of the most famous factory american wheels of all time, precisely because of how unique they are, how exclusive they were, and how elusice, rare and expensive they are today. But sure, they are not Watanabes or BBSs, so what would you two know (:

You know how there are only 5 original Corvette Grand Sports and two of them were Roadsters? Well, I just counted the Hot Wheels Corvette Grand Sports I have and its exactly 5. And even more funny, two of them are roadsters (One of which is the exact same colors as the one ran by Roger Penske in the 1964 12 Hours Of Sebring)

Not worth a lot but still lost a chance to make a profit by not paying attention. Well at least I learned a lesson, check the car carefully before opening it...

So is it a fair statement to say it's very hard to make a profit selling HWs? Well except for supers and the likes

Aiming for a high-margin profit on the business of reselling goods that everyone (including yourself) has access to for low prices doesn't sound like a sustainable idea. If I can get it for $1, and you can get it for $1, who would pay $3 + shipping? It sounds so obvious, right? But then the meta game of collecting for a lot of people is seeing an item's demand on eBay, and then hunting for it at all the stores they can go to.

Now suddenly, instead of collectors trying their luck at the dump bin, it's now a game of which collector wants to kill the tradition in the interest of earning some pocket change. It's a business tactic nevertheless, but the profitable gains can be pretty low. A part-time job earns you more and doesn't rely on the chance of finding a rare item.


I mean, this isn't the case with people who order cases to resell, but their prices do have an influence on everyone else who wants to find profits off reselling goods.
