I should do what cano's doing

post a load of random cars each page to crash the slow computers

What is so random about the cars he's posting? Maybe SVX can do a poll on this(I'm kidding SVX, don't you do it!), but most of us in here do appreciate the members uploading the pics of rare and/or classic cars in this thread, especially with a top-notch photography, or editing job.

Well you know guys, it's a thread for diecast collectors. I'm pretty sure that the thread would be the most boring thing on the entire Internet if there were no pictures. Just sayin'. ;)

Yeah, stop whinning. Or yet, keep on it if you want, I'm not gonna stop, at least not for this bunch of cars. They're photogtraphed and mostly edited already. Deal with it.

And come july, I'll have plenty of free time to FINALLY finish taking pictures of the cars in my xzibit. That should be something.

'Sides, what would a thread like this be without pics? o_O

Bro if i were to bore every one with my ten million cars I would , im just to lazy
PS any comments on the quality of the picture I took, any better worst, good as is ?

Dived in here some time ago, just to check for anything new before I hit the sack, and I can't get to sleep now for laughing. You guys are hilarious! And someone - please keep an eye out for those men in the white lab-coats. We just can't let them take poor a6m5 away.
Cano - Post Away!!! As you have been doing for many years now. . .
I look forward to your posts - classic, professional photography given to rare and otherwise never-seen-before models. Remember; 200 pic limit - and you haven't got there yet. MOAR!! And thanks. Good work. 👍

Been very busy myself, with some contracts to fulfil, as well as running around preparing for a double-graduation. But will be in soon with suitable commentary as well as helping keep Medigo and a6m5 from getting into trouble with those grouchy senior citizens bent on getting their grubby fingers on our beloved HWs.

In other news - some of you regulars might remember me mentioning several times about a store that was being liquidated (though I didn't mention the name of the store) Well, it's not going to be turned into a Target at all (as assumed by several, including at least one member here). Instead, I see a notice now plastered on the door of the empty store that says it will soon be turned into a Walmart! Heh, now I'll have both a Toys 'R Us AND a Walmart beside each other. Happy hunting grounds - hope what one lacks, the other will have in terms of HWs. :)

Medigo, you should have started chatting with his wife, see how he likes that. "So, where do you usually shop for hot wheels? Maybe I'll see you there sometime?"

Sounds like you're speaking from experience. ;)

Exactly, the more pictures, the merrier. I say. 👍

In addition, I personally enjoy checking out the pics of other members' "hauls". I've gotten so many ideas or cars from those pics. Granted, it can get a bit repetitive sometimes, like with that guy *cough*a6m5*cough* He has to post everything R1600 posted just day or two before, except with 🤬 photography.

:O OOOOOOHHHHHH, OMG!!!!!!!

R1600Turbo
I was like: "That's mean".

Then I was like: "Oh, that's you!"

I know right? I was shocked right out of my chair.:lol:

Purchases from yesterday at Walmart. Not much, but did run into another collector there. However, he didn't seem like the kind and social type... Just blocked the entire area of Hot Wheels pegs with his shopping cart and when I asked to be excused he just glared at me and went back to searching through the box of Mystery Models. He took 10 minutes searching through the bags... His wife didn't look too happy about being dragged along, so she went off with her own shopping cart. Hope I don't run into him again.

Mystery Models COPO Camaro was the only thing of interest that was left...
Finally got the Porsche 917! And it has a loose window error. >_>

Man! I love the COPO Cam in the Mystery Models. I have to find one.

Cool group of cars though. :)

R1600Turbo
I think there's a difference between "look what I got" and "Holy 🤬!".

Yep....

A common any year HW new models = :)

A rare, hard to find, or a 1990 HW car in mint condition and inside package =👍 Holy 🤬!!!!!!!!!

You're not alone bro. I have some pics myself, but my lazyness keeps getting the best of me still.

Better, the Macro feature will always bring out better details. Now you need better light. Remember, photography is always a matter of light, ALWAYS.

New page, so moar and moar. This time another small and very british lot of Lesney Matchbox and an unknown F21 race car.
IMG_7640.jpg

IMG_7641.jpg

This Jaguar is awesome. It has been one of my favorite Lesney castings and finally fell into my hands. A bit worn but it's here.
IMG_7571.jpg

I specially love the opening hood.
IMG_7573.jpg

Yet another Jag, this time a Type E with the unusual Lesney wire wheels. These weren't used in many cars.
IMG_7575.jpg

Finally a decent Land Rover complete with luggage, to keep company of my restored example:
IMG_7567.jpg

And yet another small bunch of Matchbox cars, this time later models made in Macau and barely made in England.
IMG_7642.jpg

The RX7 is cool in IMSA-style fender flares; if a wasted one ever comes to me I'm gonna make a freaking race car out of it, with decent wheels, because the casting is awesome:
IMG_7560.jpg

The Mercedes 500 SEC AMG is a late Macau car with the so-called CD wheels:
IMG_7564.jpg

Opening doors and, well, they're called like that for a reason:
IMG_7566.jpg

And my favorite of the bunch, the Rolls in very good shape. This thing is harder to find than I thought, I've been chasing one since I saw one my paint friend restored. So finally.
IMG_7562.jpg

more to come, of course.

Where do most of you find your HW, Matchboxes, etc. I know we can go by Wal-Mart, Target, Toys R Us, etc and haunt eBay for a really good deal but where else do all of you go for cars?

Love the RX7 Cano. It is indeed a really cool casting.
Has some character. 👍

Grocery stores, auto parts stores, yard sales, etc.

 at Cano's post. E-Type, RX-7, AMG, Defender, and all those other ones.

It really isn't often I find that Toys R Us has updated their stock with stuff that's newer than Walmart's stock.

IMG_0056.jpg

Red 911 GT2
599XX (Since I missed out on the Ferrari Racer one, this will do)
Corvette Z06
Boxster Spyder!
And finally the Cuda. :dopey:

Might just buy seconds of these when I find them at cheaper places like Walmart... Was slightly tempted towards the Camaro Convertible in blue, a Toys R Us exclusive color.

Those are part of the July mail-in promotion with Toys R Us.

Yes they are and I believe the receipts that are mailed in must be in July. Since I only recently started collection, I am tempted to participate in the mail-in since I have no K-Mart near my area.

Yeah the cars have to be purchased after July 1st. I plan on going back and buying 20 random cars to use for customs or to just give to my nephew.

Whoever mentioned the 99 Cent store a few pages back was right. I just got like 20 cars there, including the E92 and Ford GT GT2 cars, 510, Kenmeri, Triumph road racer, Ken Block car, Aventador, S15, R32, etc. There were tons of muscle cars and other domestic stuff too but I don't collect them. (Trying to limit myself, haha. Road Racing cars, tuner cars, modern exotics and vintage foreign cars are all I'm trying to get...) They also had a lot of cool stuff like the Estoque, One-77, Fox Body, Mini challenge car, etc, but I'm limited on space and trying not to collect too many color variants or models I'm not in love with.

Edit - pic of everything i got.

Damn cano that IMSA FB is awesome!

I always laugh at the cheapo toys-r-us brand stuff, like that 20-pack car carrrier, because the cars are of such low quality...but the castings are of incredible cars! I know there's a couple of historic race cars... Gr.5 Stratos, a couple more sillhouette cars and even JGTC cars (i know there's a GT500 Supra in the car wash playset or something).

Their slot car selection also carries rally cars, lol. There's a Evo IX and Subie GDB in full rally attire...but the cars are just plastic.

I've got the exact same AMG, that Cano posted but for some reason eight year me decided to draw all over the decals. :grumpy:

Looks like that super hot RX-7 goes for around $10. I really want it, but is it worth it? Anybody know the retail value? Because I think I'll be down with paying retail for that particular one.

I think we've all done something similar.

Which one, my RX7? I don't think I paid 10 for the entire lot.

EDIT: Dont listen to the guy above me. Open them.

I know you wouldn't pay that, but is that about the fair retail? It's not like I look around for these cars, so I'm not expecting a bargain.

A-Team: I think I have one or two in package, one out of package. <--correct way :p

Lol i saw that last week and was awestruck. Didnt think anyone would be that stupid. The 99 in motebello has a team vans in super stock lol

$10 would be high. Look around, I'm sure you can snatch it up for $5 or less.

Too late, I sealed the deal!

I checked eBay and Toy Peddler. Toy Peddler didn't have one, and while eBay had bunch, they were all beat up and was around ten, plus shipping.

There was one I missed, which was old-stock, so it included the box. I pulled the trigger on it. :dopey:

Thanks for posting pics of it, Cano. See how it works for me, Frosty? ;)👍

It's picture time!

Clearance from Target
IMG_0581.jpg

IMG_0582.jpg

Flea Market this Month

Awesome 100% cars
IMG_0586.jpg

50 cent Matchbox. I bought the Protectos for a buck from another guy.
IMG_0583.jpg

Bought front two at Walmart and back two at Flea Market--then opened them all.
IMG_0579.jpg

3/$1 Road Champs and Stompers. I couldnt resist. Really I tried
IMG_0572.jpg

2/$1 and I have no idea what they are!
IMG_0574.jpg

These last three pictures have cars that came from the same guy. His space was 90% baseball artifacts. Posters, plaques, signed stuff....and paper sandwhich bags full of hot wheels.

These were some of the "bad" ones so 2/$1.
IMG_0576.jpg

A diescast Chrysler Lebaron, who woulda thunk it!

IMG_0575.jpg

These were the "good" ones so $1 piece.
IMG_0578.jpg

Aside from the Hot Ones Classics set, I spent $24 with my bidding people down for everything.
