That F40's so ghetto, but it totally works! Very cool!

There is a friction drive on the underside so when you draw the car back it sparks just under the windshield. Its silly because the energy is not stored in any way. A kid in 1990 whenever this came out is going to drag it back, see the sparks then release it with the assumption it will move forward. When it doesnt, he/she will never touch it again and instead just chuck it in the toy box.

If we're going to continue bashing people for not opening cars, this will be my last post in here. Absolutely no reason for it.

OMG...I just find this years XMAS present to myself. They are ALL Corgi based Hot wheels.
16020.jpg

Here's the list

London Taxi, Ford Sierra, Ferrari Testarossa, Porsche Carrera, '57 T-Bird, Mercedes 500SL, Ferrari 348, '80's Corvette, Mustang Cobra, BMW 850i, Mercedes 190E, Ferrari 308, Double Decker Bus, Porsche 911, BMW M3, Porsche 935

Those last two did come out as hot wheels ( Not on this continent though :( ) seen below, but I've never seen one even for sale before. Horrible wheel choice for both IMO. I Love how the 935 is #4 in the set and has a 4 on it, while the M3 is #2 in the set with a 3 on the side.

So does anybody know a good source to look for display shelving for HWs? I picked up this crappy wire shelf while I was at the 99 cent store but obviously it's not the greatest. I'm thinking I could get at least three tiers of cars into the cubby thing on top of my desk that I'm using for these, if I had the right shelves.

My little collection so far. by maximstensel, on Flickr

I wouldn't have opened that A team van.. there still going for ten bucks at franks and sons, and people buy them lol =D

I didn't have much choice, the bubble was half separated from the card already. These were all dumped in a big cardboard bin thing, so the cards were all trashed from people digging through anyway. I probably missed some cool stuff buried in there, there were easily a few hundred cars.

They'd both look good if all four wheels were the same as the front wheels, but the huge rear ones and the staggered stance don't make any sense.

Too late, I sealed the deal!

I checked eBay and Toy Peddler. Toy Peddler didn't have one, and while eBay had bunch, they were all beat up and was around ten, plus shipping.

There was one I missed, which was old-stock, so it included the box. I pulled the trigger on it. :dopey:

Thanks for posting pics of it, Cano. See how it works for me, Frosty? ;)👍

Ah, if it's boxed it wasn't too bad of a deal, then.

It's picture time!

Awesome flea market grabs. I can't believe the 50 cent Matchbox cars. How can that be? I also love the $1 cars in the last picture, and the LeBaron!

However, the Fao Schwarz pack is REALLY interesting. Can I have pics of each car, or at least a bigger shot? I'm really curious about it.

Make your own. Can't go wrong with custom work because you can make it to however way you find perfect for whatever wall you're mounting it on.

I agree, just get some simple thin plywood or MDF and make a compartment style display box.

I'm looking for something that can go on an existing shelf. My space is really limited here (GF and I in a small apartment with lots of other stuff) so what I'm basically trying to do is turn one shelf into several. The problem with MDF or similar is that it blocks the light to the lower levels, what I'm really hoping to find is something made of acrylic or clear plastic of some sort.

I stuck my Back to the Future DeLorean on my work computer monitor with a automotive double-sided tape to display "it", but the room is very limited. Darn flat monitors. :sly:

Cano loves us. Which is why I forgive him for opening the packages, but I still blame his parents. :p

P.S. Did you get your Toyota 86 whatever car? I got it in the mail today. I'm gonna go shoot hoops, but I'll be posting the pics later!
Ah, if it's boxed it wasn't too bad of a deal, then.

I asked the seller to help me on couple other cars they have for sale. I hope I get them, and if I do, I'll post pics! 👍

OK, I had already bought & paid for the RX-7(that blue wide one), but then I saw a Datsun 280Z & another F1 car that looked cool from the same seller. Seller was super nice, and worked with me to combine those two with the RX-7! I can't wait to add them to my collection.
I used to do the old 60s-70s hot wheels as a kid, but still have some eg. beach bomb
I can't even picture them in my head. I bet they were cool though!
I won't take photos during the week anymore anyway. Lighting sucks.
Lighting, is that a technical term or something? I'm not a professional or anything, so I don't sweat the little stuff. :p

Yeah, bad lighting = no light.

I did get my cars though. I was worried when I saw the outside of the packaging, but they were actually packed really well. I like how they had the cars outside of the boxes and the boxes still laid flat. 👍

:odd: After reading your post, I decided to open it, but mine was in an medium(parcel) paper envelope, car still inside the box, rolled up really thick in bubblewrap.

Everything's good, and although it came from China, packaging is Japanese, which is cool. 👍 They just had their domestic info labeled with a small sticker in Chinese.

Yep, same envelope here but cars outside the boxes with the boxes laid flat. I think they do that so customs doesn't tear them up.

That is weird. I thought I posted a reply to R1600, but it's gone!

On the packaging of Toyota 86, I forgot that you ordered two, and that maybe why they packaged them differently.

I know you guys don't pay retail, but if you are interested in other Matchbox cars this seller has listed, you can click here. Looking at the list again, I saw couple more cars I wouldn't mind ordering, but I've put her through enough.
omfgpics.
I was thinking the same.

GT-86 PICTURES!!!

Grrrrr!!! JELLY JELLY JELLY!!!! (How much was the import tax?)

Makes me want to bid on this, but not sure about it...

Well...I would bid on it, if I had a way of buying stuff online. :grumpy:

Edit: Never heard of "Selling my stuff, United States"

I 🤬 knew it! I didn't want to say anything, because I didn't want Harry to make the "crazy" joke again!
Also, I really like the look of the detail on that Toyota 86. I may have to get myself one.
It's certainly a nice change of pace from the Hot Wheels, Matchbox, and other premium stuff I'm so into now(Greenlight, M2, etc.).

I'm telling you, I've never ever paid any taxes. I've bought countless items from Europe & China, maybe even Canada. I think I once bought Autoart Lotus Honda F1 from Brasil or somewhere around there. I've never been asked to pay customs tax.

Edit: I just checked the declaration form on the package. They marked it as "gift", which I'm pretty sure is illegal. :D

That is nice. And cheap. If that was black, I'd probably have stolen that from you.

Just did a wheel swap on one of my 86's. Pics incoming in the other thread. :sly:

Can't wait to see that! What wheels? Wantanabes?

Tempted... :p

Well it has three days on it, so I guess the price will definitely jump up... :nervous: I do agree on the black color, would be begging someone to buy me it if it was in black.

I forgot to post the two other cars I've picked up recently:

Range Rover, I got from the toypeddler. I can't remember how much, but it was reasonable.

There was talk of shelving and displaying a few pages back, so I'll show you some examples here -

Ah,very cool. If I could, every single wall would look like that. Heck, mayve I'd even let some on their blister cards to fill the upper parts.

Actually there are four walls in that 'Healing Pink' room. I have to constantly keep picking up my jaw so as to not let the drool on the floor cause accidents.
The loose cars and packages also keep changing . . . as the packages get opened when more appear, and the loose cars dissappear to make room for new ones.

The only packages that remain unopened are the ones taken away by the scalper who has three different auctions on eBay. And goes roaming forums to canvass for bidders. ;)
