Limited run? *cough*BS*cough*

Saw tons of them yesterday while out searching for a new 4-sided shipper that's hitting local grocery stores.

Anyway, the Batman cars are just re-releases on fancy cards. There is a new "Bat" coming out shortly from the new Dark Knight movie. 👍

HERE is the BAT.

I guess 2 people felt that $10 was enough to pay for having it Meow.

Dan weldon
kit,the bat, and oh god the mystery machine -.- are making it a hard year for us

HERE is the BAT.
I'm pretty sure that's from the Star Wars. They had the premium early release white paint-job(very hard to find, but no inca gold trim), and they were shooting cables with hooks at the end at these Imperial walking things, causing them to trip & fall. I don't know which Star Wars movie it was, but it was on some ice planet.

:p

This is the right thread.. Now, where were we? Oh..Yes. I'm currently bidding on a '69 Hot Wheels Grand Prix Series Indy Eagle, it's Spectraflame Blue & in a great shape blister pack. Hope I can win it. Another guy outbid me though & now it's up to $68! :ouch: Oh well, in package they're worth around $100. So no higher than that & It'll be fine.

R33? :D i'll need to see pics. Do you mean R32? I have one of them if so. A Mad Manga would be cool lol.

I personally like the blue one more...the black one just lacked something the blue one has... probably the white wheels

I'd rather take my chances finding it in an antique store for cheap than do that. :scared:

Nothing like that around town (At least that I know of), I've never actually seen any Hot Wheels older than the '80s in person. Nobody around here has the '60s/'70s HWs packaged still, and if they do they're sure not telling or selling for that matter.

These are the ones I REALLY want, but, for obvious reasons, that's not happening.

Amazingly enough, today my mom didn't seem mad about my collection. Yesterday she just went "Why do you have so many toy cars under your bed!?" However this morning, I simply told her I was collecting and what did she say? "Put them in boxes or something, just don't make a mess." So yes, seems like I can officially collect now. :D

lol sweet! glad to hear that man

Join the club! Hahaha... It's addicting eh? I've been doing it since before I can remember, & my dad gave me his old Matchbox & Hot Wheels to play with. I got over 1,000 in the packages now, open my closet and you'll see 30 shoe boxes.. guess what they're full of?

Downey's real close by...probably 20 minutes away. I live out in San Gabriel/Montebello/east LA area. IDK if you know the streets too well, but the dollar tree on Beverly/Montebello usually has a good array...as does the 99c. Store on wilcox. I also find some good ones in the commerce K-Mart, they usually have a huge selection (granted kinda old stuff...but it's good). The other day i went to Prestige Hobbies near Knotts Berry Farm and they had a great selection, although things were marked up considerably...he was selling a de-carded Falcon Race car for $4 even though the pegs of standard HW was stocked up... i didnt quite understand. The price tag on the loose car said "RR," but i'm sure that doesn't stand for Real Riders like i had assumed

I've seen a couple of A-Team vans appear at the dollar tree on Riggen/Garfield recently, but i haven't been there in a few weeks

lol i gotta get my wife, so i'll be back

Anybody know what "chase vehicles" are? I ran into this again while looking at I think Greenlight or other line of hot wheel cars.

Chase cars will be different in some way than their regular release.

Hard to make an example as there are so many, but think of it like how a Super Treasure Hunt is different from it's regular release.

have taken a bunch of pictures of my 78 hotwheels that i have at the moment.:dopey: i actually have at least 150+ more:drool: will probably post tomorrow because its a little late here because im waking up at 5:30 A.M to use my telescope to see venus and juipiter.:D a lot of them you will like!

Welcome to the club bro :D:tup:!!! I'm glad that your parents don't mind collecting, even mine don't care anymore, but just don't get carried away, that's it.

And besides, it's not like we are doing things that can be trouble or ruin our lives. It's cheap, and reasonable hobby.

Is there anything in HW/Matchbox scale of a similar quality level and price point to the Johnny Lightning cars but with less of a focus on muscle cars? I have the JGTC set that Muscle Machines did way back, and I'd love more road racing cars, classic supercars, and stuff like that, but I don't see much between Hot Wheels and super-expensive handbuilt 1:43s. I'd love some nice Porsche 917s, Ferrari 250s, modern Le Mans cars, stuff like that, but I can't find much of anything. There are plenty in 1:18 but I have neither the space nor the money for them.

In other news, local hobby shop has a bunch of HWs for $2 a piece. Not too much of interest, but they did have a red Benz C Class, red Stratos, and '07 New Model blue/white Shelby Daytona. Looking at eBay they're not good deals or anything but they're cool and I might grab 'em sometime.

That's a lot less drama than I was expecting, got dammit. Cool.

Guys - any sightings of Batch N in the states yet?

Negative.

Also, a serious question for those buying huge lots on eBay:

What is your goal with making these purchases? Just to have as many cars as possible? It just seems people are buying cars just to buy cars.

I know I only collect cars I like, so I bypass quite a few on a daily basis.

I will reply to this not counting the repeats which, as you all know, are sold or traded for other stuff.

I do only keep the cars that I like. Unlike you, I have quite a broad taste when it comes to toy cars. for example, the trucks and cosntruction equipment are not things I like in real life, but they were toys I grew up playing with and now I can have them back, that's why I have many trucks, shovels and other stuff like that.

I am also somewhat fascinated by older cars that I never got to have, so that is why I'm always buying old stuff that I never got as a kid... and obviously, I'm getting back the cars of my youth. Also, I really like the older stuff, I'm talking 1960s-70s, like the Lesney Matchbox I posted a couple weeks ago. And since I never got to have any of those as a kid, well, here they come now.

I'm not completist at all, many variations are left out because they are just plain ugly; yet again, there are some funky designs I like (like the Shadow Jet, for instance) partly because they are so absurd, and partly because I grew up with them.

I need the pink shadow jet Cano!!

Im becoming alot more discerning with ebay purchases. When I buy larger lots its because the cars I either don't have or they are in better condition than filler I presently have. I do have a soft spot for 80s black walls and will buy multiples of those. Its mental on my part, I admit, but there are worse and more expensive hobbies. Plus this hobby pays back w/profit if you take care of it. Used sporting equipment won't.

I stopped buying what fit my fancy when i was eleven..
So i started buying first additions because hey! il have every single car if i collect a series! And I look out for retools of existing models allot =D
And the big bunch of cars i bought came with A bunch of cars id been personally looking for. Sure i have certain cars I MUST have and il pick up a car that im a favorite of but you wont see me buying cars i already have unless its a first edition version.
And im a huge fan of 90's cars primarily because I grew up with them and can be traced back to my dad taking me to the 99 cents store every weekend and buying me a few cars or so..
PS if any one has 2 grand to spend for the FULL SET of EVERY SINGLE CAR since 2000-2011 , this includes all TH' from 2000-2011 go to toypedlar.com , and its under the vault , you can get your $ back just by selling the protect o packs that come with the cars on ebay haha
