code_kevTake care there kinigitt, your gonna get some ass pretending that games consoles are powerful now!
SaintKamusoh, i read your post... the fact is that if we're talking about a high defenition MPEG2 stream then yes, you'd be right, DVD transfer rate on the PS2 wouldn't be enough...
but mpeg4 is a different story, since it uses less than half the bittrate MPEG2 does to obtain the same quality mpeg2 does, this also means half the transfer speed is required... i have lots of HD movies recorded in WM9 that play just fine from even an old, low speed DVD drive. so HD recorded at 3 MBPS could in theory be ran from even a crappy PS2 drive, but of course.. it wouln't be able to play it because of, again:
not enough framebuffer (not even the xbox has enough framebuffer for 1080i video).
and the fact that the PS2 CPU wouln't be fast enough to decode the bitstream.
Solid LiftersYes, I understand. But, this is "simulating" via special computer what the images will be like. So, it's all good.
tha_conagreed, in fact if you read the posts, aside from my theory, all we've been doing is agreeing back and forth...funny isn't it.
Anyway, I read this also and have to quote it:
xbox 2 dev kits are powermacs
That is too good.
kinigittpicture doing it with very crappy hardware. like a game console.
MadduckUKif it can play gt at 60fps as it now, it could play gt at 30fps with 2x the resolution. this can be backed up with some benchmarks if needed. please dont make me google.
so where were we again? dvd media not allowing 1080i for video games? bull
code_kevTake care there kinigitt, your gonna get some hassle pretending that games consoles are powerful now! Just you wait for those fanboy console comparison links from 2001from "experts".
Get some ass? WTF IS WRONG WITH ME.
MadduckUKyou seem kinda.. exciteble, cobra. what u been taking?
Yep, people are making too big of deal about this 1080i jazz. It might be better video image, but it might not be. It all depends on what HDTV set you own. People who know nothing about HDTVs have a hard time understanding this.code_kevNo one said it was the suck. We just bought common sense in to the "OMFG GT4 IS TEH PWN IT DOES EVERYTHING" convo.
cobragt and drugs, damn oxymoron for ya.kinigitthe's high on life. or crack. or crystal meth. spill the beans cobra.

I got a hd tuner in mine. Mine is a 42' zenith, widescreen. Think the game will look uber amazing on mine? I also have alot of other stuff on my tv that I can't comprehend, like dvi-hdtv with HDCP, something called calibration, and sadly, I know nothing about itSolid LiftersYep, people are making too big of deal about this 1080i jazz. I know that 1080i will look better. My HDTV set wasn't cheap, so it has an outstanding deinterlacer. However, it doesn't do 1080i Hi-scan conversion. I've seen HS1080 before on my HDTV, and it looks great. I, for one, will benefit from using it, so I'm happy about it.
got to be kidding me?MadduckUKfor some reason i can picture him reading this thread, then just getting up and screaming while throwing his hands in the air.....
cobragtgot to be kidding me?
super supraI dont understand ****! Tho i think the "1080i" looks better.
Quick Questions, dont get angry.![]()
What is HDTV ?
What does 1080i means, and what do i need to use it ?
cobragtI am calm, I simply joking. See, the problem here is, you all, including myself are mad because you dont have gt4 so you bring up this upscaling bs about 1080i not being teh true 1080i so "gt4 must is teh sukc game" noob talk over. seriously, be glad we dont have to deal with regular res![]()
