I debated doing this, but being in the DP I don't want to have to fight through a full field of Cadillacs.

I never even saw, this is going to be a rolling start right?

Well you know those guys will battle and some will wreck but it will allow you to run your race not over drive because your trying to follow a faster guy.

Yes rolling start, and no space between DP and Caddy. It's why I brought up if you start near rear of DP field, might be wise to avoid those bombers on turn 1.

Just ran practice session and i was first in the caddy with a 1.46.591.

Does anyone know how competitive that time is?

Riley DP? 1:36-1:37's.

Caddy? 1:46's is the fastest I've seen, but I've seen quite a few 1:46's so I think low-mid 1:46's might cover the top split.

one guy ran a 1.35.9** in the Riley DP in the same session I was in.

My optimal best time however is a 1.45.7**

So the uber aliens are going to be running mid 45's in the caddy i suppose.
Cause im usually always within 0.7 - 1 sec behind the aliens

I ran a 36.4 in my first quali session in the dp just wondering Wat split I will b in, think there is another 5 tenths to b had on my lap I struggle with the 3rd to last corner! (can't remember which turn it is!)

That would be turn 9, I struggle with it too.

Checking the open practice stats, I guess more people are getting 1:36's than I first though. So maybe top split will be high 1:35's to mid-1:36's.

Dang now that's flying! I'm glad those Caddy's won't be in my split since I'm around same times as them at times.

There aren't any Cadillacs getting 1:36's LOL, that's Riley DP times.

Don't worry I had a brain fart and forgot we aren't running the bus stop now.

I think I was stuck behind a Cadillac using a baseline setup just now. Braking way too damn early that I rear ended him twice. I had the second fastest lap in the session and he was 22nd, but would not let me by at all. Time to quit for the night.

Im using the baseline and running mid 1:47 with an optimal of mid 1:46. Dont blame the setup blame the driver.

I hate when that happens period no matter what race! I normal let anyone faster by even for position, and fall in behind them.

Nope havent changed anything at all. Need to drop the fuel though and practice like that to qualify. Not sure how much faster that will be but probably not much.

Im running the stock baseline setup and just finished a quali session with a 1.45.956 & optimal of 1.45.4**.

So I assume Aliens will now run high 44s to low 45's.

You're gonna qualify in the top three if you run a 1'45.

Nah, I know my teammates are doing 44's and a few others as well from international teams. I reckon top 5 or so will be 44's if not more. 45's will get you top split though.

I decided to give this race a whirl, i just downloaded the track an hour ago. My best time so far in the caddie is a 1'51.5, which i dont think is too bad for someone who just started iracing 2 days ago. I still have to learn braking in this game and i know ill have to do some car adjustments, im just not sure at this point. Will there be a rookie split for this race, or some kind of tier system?

Rookie and D class drivers will be together and C and up will be together.

I like the track alot more without the bus stop. Gears I just went high on 4th and 5th which I'm not sure was the right thing to do.

The pace in rookie class is still fast which I'm way off at 1.43 but I don't really care because I'm there for long race not few fast laps.

Just took a glance at the quali stats and it looks like I'll be in the same split as Fabian Coulthard! Man I hope I can to run on that split! That'll be awesome!

I keep forgetting to look what split I'll fall in, last I checked I was 23 out of 40 some drivers.

I thought splits went by your irating? Or will it be the time you get when you qualify for this race?

It goes first by qualifying time, then irating as I have understood it.

I checked again a few minutes back and now there's like 23 guys in between me and his time! Lol! Crazy how competitive the special events get on iRacing! Love it! I'd really like to fall in that split, it'll be pretty cool to do a race with a pro driver of that caliber and it's even better when you are in the same level on the sim!

Without a doubt it does feel good to be able to run with the big boys! It's funny before I ever joined Iracing I thought no way it's that hard, but when I see times they run compared I'm in awe of their talent.

What's even more amazing is that the guys who do this for real are normally quite a bit off the pace of the aliens!
