:banghead:  🤬 What can I say, PD are W*****S for not including 2 player garage battles, I personally used to like tuning the oddball cars like the estates (station wagons) and race my mate's tuned race cars and the like, WHAT ON GOD'S EARTH WERE THE T*****S THINKING!!!!!!!!

I've waited 16 months longer than I should have and then they release noy only a reportedly bugged product but one with a KEY feature removed and please tell me that the AI cars are still not retarded morons that follow the racing ine and not react to your presence as in the other 3 GT's (emotion engine my A**, remember that much vaunted feature!!)

I'm sorry but **** how many Skylines and EVO's that are included I would have preferred a lower vehicle count and more attention payed to the playability and racing elements for both single and multiplayer races.

24 hour races with no option to save!! Come on, not all of us have endless hours to play in one go, some people work PD!! :dopey:

It is soo unfortunate that I love the GT games to death only to have my Balls ripped off and served to me with a glass of claret by PD who seem to have completely discounted anything they may have learnt from the paying public with respect to the series by shoving their heads up their A***S and saying "tough this is what you're having , like it or lump it, we'll give you another bit in a year for 20 quid!"

DAMN YOUR SOULS IN THE INFERNAL PITS OF HELL! PD

:banghead:

I'm now finished and am going to blow my *******G brains out cos you've depressed me PD, but when all is said and done I will buy  the game cos I just can't live without it. go figure eh?

No two-player battle with tuned cars = A VERY BIG LETDOWN.

It was one of the things that kept me playing once I got 100% in GT3 up to now..

Ditto. I've told all my friends about this and we all agree its completly whack.

SaintKamus
not sure if they got backfires wrong at all, even a stock 1.8 turbo jetta will backfire, i think you don't see most cars that will backfire do it in real life because they are not being driven to the limit, most cars you see on the road are being driven at very conservative speeds.

driving a street car to the limit isnt going to produce a flame out your pipe, especially a jetta :dopey:

SaintKamus and Red Six, try reading the posts you comment on a little bit more careful. Threads go to S**T because once person misunderstands the post comes up with a stupid reply and someone else follows suit and before you know the thread goes off in a totally unintended tangent.

Problem is to many people on these forums read the tail of arguments and not the body thus doing nothing but taking threads off topic, making discussions and arguments where there aren't any. That and the fact that the majority of GTP members love GT so much they've lost self-reasoning.

FUKO WROTE "- BACKFIRES TOO MUCH", HE DID NOT SAY CARS SHOULD NOT BACKFIRE OR THAT THEY SHOULD NOT FLAME. WHAT HE MEANT IS JUST THAT THE BACKFIRE OCCURS TOO OFTEN. THAT'S ALL.

For the record in real life racing cars do backfire and they do flame. However it's not as often, probably not as often as it happens in GT4.

NOW CAN WE GET BACK TO THE TOPIC.

On-topic.

To be honest there wasn't that much wrong with GT3. I believe that what we needed was an upgrade of GT3 in GT4, much like GT2 was to GT1. The problem is GT4 aimed far to high with the visuals. PD spent too much time on that and then other important things were neglected. 👎

Give me GT3 with simulated damage (not visual, just on the HUD), 3D human element(drivers, umpires, pit crews, spectators all aimed at quality rather than quantity), open-top cars (proper, allowing as much as all 6 cars in same race to be open-tops, full LAN/2 player features(I don't think I need to explain this one), improved physics and AI(nothing major but noticeable), same solid 3D graphics engine(but with no pop-ups, glitches, frame rate problems and bugs). That would have been esy enough to do on the old 3D engine, given the extra PS2 compiting power PD claim to have tapped in, and would have taken less time to develop than it has. 👍

I'd be over the moon if also GT4 threw some polls for publicity and added say the 100 top cars and 10 top tracks voted by the public along with their entire back catalogue of tracks bringing a total of 600 cars and 60 tracks, maybe. Man, that would be me addicted to GT4 for years. 👍

The next-generation graphics, sound, visible damage, online etc could have been left for GT5 and PS3... đź’ˇ

Instead we get this joke. PD killed the online/offline multiplayer features of GT4, and gives us a buggy, glitchy game, with tons of extra crap we never wanted in the first place. ONCE AGAIN KY SHOULD HAVE LISENED TO WHAT WE WANT, NOT HIS "OUT-THERE" IDEAS LIKE PHOTO MODE AND B-SPEC. 👎

@ Cobra_UK

I don't think you'll make many friends with your above statement, but I do agree with what you said about GT4.

Well mate, you must know me by now. :) I just say it how it is. Besides, the ones on here that can take harsh honesty and are inteligent enough to understand it I would respect as a friend. The other ones I'm not too bothered about...

well, somebody in another thread already explained PD's logic in leaving out tuned cars in 2 player battle (so you will have to pay for track time to test your cars )

either that or we are PD's biatches. :dopey: Hopefully they will be coming to the US saying "where's my money ****" soon. :)

I've read the thread in question. It's just some lame, stupid and pathetic way for people to justify not having such a great feature in GT4. Why? Because they have to justify in some kind of moronic way the "greatness" and "perfection" of GT4. Of course it's all B*****T.

As for being a PD/GT B***H, you hit the nail on the head. At least you're honest. PD could sell you S**T and youÂ’d marvel at itÂ’s "greatness" and "perfection". You'll also beg for it and pay money for it. Sad but true. :)

Thing is love it or hate GT is now part of our lives but at least this time I'm not going to pay money for it.

To be honest GT3 offers more playability to me then GT4, because of the 2 player features, so I'll stick with that and see how Forza Motorsport turns out.

can someone tell me, if it's possible to play a 2-player memory card battle in the LAN -mode??????

I know it's possible on the split-screen....

Impossible. In my mind it makes that mode borderline useless when you look at the depth of the GT mode.

Sadly i have no GT3 nor 4 playing friends, so they don't have a save game from their garage, they know how to drive from GT and GT2, so i think the best way of proving your knowledge is by choosing the same car and beating your opponent down with smooth cornering

I bought gt4 today and I've been dissapointing about that's ... :

-We can't save replay in 2-player battle ... why ??? 👎 and
-No Single screen in 2-player replay 👎

I think.That .'s only a 1-player game's

Gran turismo mode ... perfect !! 👍

Like seriously as posted before what is the logic behind all of this? If you were a developmental team for a video game why not include such a feature as you did in the previous game? There's no competition in 2 player now being other than using the same stock cars oooh that sounds fun. I would have liked to tested my tuned cars vs another persons tuned cars to see who was better and had better tuning. This is just outrageous how they could just leave this out of the game. What is going on thru their heads? Ranting about it really isn't going to change anything but i'm disappointed. No more fun GT parties I guess.

you can play gt4 with memory card battle. i don't know what all of you are saying but yes you can play memory card battle.
1. select arcade mode
2. select 2 player battle
3. select world circuit/original circuit/city circuit/dirt and snow
4. select a track
5. click select car
6. now theres a whole pile of manufactures. at the very top there's by manufacturers, 1 (memory slot 1), 2 (memory slot 2), and favourites.
7. select your car

and off you go. im not sure why all of you ppl can't get it working, but it works :D

Its great that we have 2 player battles, I wish we could do the same with 1 player in arcade, be u cant 👎

After reading another, and this time more justified grizzlethread on GT4, i thought i'd like to add my own little viewpoint post that won me so many brownie points with the mods last time.

No 2-player fullscreen mode: This is rather irritating as there's nothing better in the replay area than watching a wide view of a car in the distance come sliding round. A little disappointing.
No 2-player saving replays: Just plain randomly annoying really. I can't see the need for the removal of this feature. I hope its reinstated for PAL, seeing as we're the multiplayer nations
No 2-player Garage racing: I'm not massively miffed about this unless we start getting so me programs like MK's further down the line, as we'd always get the same car anyway, it would lead to unfair advantages otherwise, and to calculate the best car to race against? That takes far too long, when my mates are round i just want to pick up the controller and race.
Excessive Backfire: I don't really think its excessive, and further to the post "no normal cars would backfire like that in real life" - my brother's WRX Impreza certainly would after some mild thrashing as would his previous rover 420 turbo... as for NA cars, probably quite little except perhaps in the case of smaller/older cars such as the 1940s Beetle...
But 1080i mode is included!: I am a bit of a stranger to 1080i mode, i don't see how this works, i've heard the graphics aren't that much better anyway, unless you have a really good HDTV, and how many people here have one of those?
No 2up Photo mode!!: I don't really give a pancake about SIngle player really, let alone two player thank you very much.
Sprites from existing cars same as GT3: I can't say i've noticed that, either way they look good enough, though it would surprise me if they haven't remodelled them.
Who gives a damn about Nos? thats nfsu stuff!: Nitrous is actually a cunning skilled factor that adds another level of detail to the game IMO, and i think its a great addition, what with drag racing and all...

Again, thats my view, make of it what you will,

As S2K4mee stated above, THERE IS 2-PLAYER GARAGE FUNCTIONALITY in the US NTSC release of GT4!

However:

- Still no full-screen replay in 2P mode
- Still no save replay in 2P mode
- Even worse, no option to view the replay again (or rewind) in 2P mode!!! Once the replay is finished, you pop back to the 2P battle menu and the replay is gone forever!!! :(

If you really want to capture the replay, you could record it to a VHS tape if you are running you game system through the VCR. I agree that it is a very bad deal for the two player mode to be stripped of some of the features that make it fun ( mainly full screen replay ).

What does this split screen replay look like? If it allows outside views, i will just set it to vertical split on my widescreen tv to give an almost square picture (okay 8:9 but close enough!) or does it just show your car as you played (camera behind the car)?

EDIT: My bad, sorry was in too much of a rush to post and then leave to go out...

You pick arcade mode at the title screen menu. Then click 2 player battle. Then pick the track you want. Then you get to a screen that has 2 siloutes of ps2 controllers. Under these siloutes it says SELECT CAR. You click on one of those. It takes you to a screen that has all the car manufactures logos. At the top of the screen there is a silver button that say by manufacture. Next to that is a silver button that says 1 and next to that is a silver button that says 2 and next to that is a silver button that says My favorites.

The 1 and 2 buttons are memory slot 1 and slot 2. If you have your GT4 game data/garage saved on memory card 1, press the silver button that say 1.

8 pages of this thread took place before GT4 came out in the US, so it's inaccurate on several issues. Can we start a new one?
I don't really see the need, when people are going to open a fairly long thread, they're likely to skip to the end anyway... Perhaps the title/first post could be modified to suggest that to everyone..
