That is indeed a good list of models there. I'd love to get my hands on the Clio and Focus (neither sold here in the US), as they seem to be "fun" cars to play around with. Although, I'm a bit skeptical of the Mazdaspeed 6 choise... American magazines really didn't care much for the car, not necessiarily for the sporty drive, but for the poor build quality. I personally would have put the VW GLI on the list over the Mazdaspeed 6, but thats just me.

The germans pretty much owned this list, good to see the MK2 TT on it aswell.

Probably it's a whole lot easier to get their hands on an Alfa rather than a Corvette.

Bad press, for the GT500? Naw...

The best word that I have to describe the car is indeed "underwhelming," but at the same time, "classic." Top Gear seemed to love it with their test of the Corvette Z06, Viper, and GT500...

BTW: What don't the Germans own these days? They seem to be buying out everything except Poland, and I'm not sure why...

I don't think the ZO6 is officially available in the UK. The GT500 certainly isn't - that's why they are not included - whether they think they are worthy of being on the list or not is a different matter.

The GT500 you are quite right on - its not officially imported into the UK.

The Z06 is officially imported, but just to order and is only available in left-hand drive which may be why its not included.

Well, again, these are 20 greatest drives of the cars they'd tested for 2006, so its likely some very good cars that aren't there weren't tested this year.

And the Gallardo? I've heard nothing but praise from every single tester that's driven it. Sure, it may suffer in comparison to a Ford GT or a Ferrari 430, but neither of those cars were driven in this year's Autoexpress, now, were they?

Honestly, though... I wouldn't say no to a quick spin if you threw me the keys to any of the cars on the list or even the cars mentioned which weren't included... and that includes the slightly so-so Mazdaspeed 6.
