Here's hoping for another out-of-nowhere points finish for Jenson - every little helps - although with the newbie trio ahead of him (Kobayashi, Alguersuari, Grosjean) I expect he'll be assisted into the wall on the first lap. I still want Barrichello to win the race; he's had so much disappointment here, he deserves a home win.

Speaking of Kobayashi, I was quite impressed with his performance today. Lets hope he keeps it up tomorrow. Nice to see Sutil do well too.

Nine different makes of car in the top 10 - major WTF for McLaren.

Loved the underwater kerb camera shot near the beginning of the stoppage time.

I'm wondering whether some of the guys at the back prefered to have a dry race setup. If it doesn't rain it would be very exciting seeing Vettel and Hamilton flying from the back.
 
Sadly i missed that epic shot since i didn't watch qualy live so if anyone recorded it can you post it on youtube?

No wonder, between the long pauses and all that water, I would peed too.
 
Rubens did everything right today..I hope he gets his shot at the title tomorrow..

I'm not brazilian, but I seem to be supporting the brazilian drivers of F1 - last year it was Massa, now it's Rubens, who I always supported as well, but he never really had a shot for the title..

Let's hope he wins the brazilian GP and Button doesn't score, so the last race of the season can be exciting like it was the last 2 years :D

Raikkonnen slower on fuel that Sutil and almost slower than Alguersari?

Oh, someone give us a wet race tomorrow, i can see a big shock at the front of the grid
 
While I don't have high hopes for Button - if he can give Grosjean, Kobayashi and Alguersuari the slip early on, he'll be okay - I'm hoping that Barrichello's fuel strategy will compromise him a lot.

at the moment, they are looking at heavy rain with no wind to move it along. If that is the case, safety car?

Visibility issues for the cars behind should definitely play to Ruben's advantage, as long as he can fend off any attacks at the start of course. And I don't see Webber having much luck bypassing Ruben's (in the pits or on track) if it's raining, even considering Webber is fueled a bit heavier.

I just hope the race doesn't get red flagged half way through as we saw in Malaysia...this would pretty much seal the deal on the Championship :sick:
 
Hasn't Rubens had a lot of bad starts this year? Like Spa?

Spa was a low point, i think he had a bad start in Bahrain as well but after that, can't remember any bad starts

Back to the weather, sseeing as how they are calling for heavy rain, surely this brings the likes of Sutil and Buemi into play with their heavier fuel loads compared to Raikonnen who went dan dare on the light load
 
As long as it isn't going to get cancelled like Malaysia.
 
If they have to stop the race because the rain is too heavy, then they have to stop the race because the rain is too heavy. Even if the Malaysian Grand Prix has started at 2pm local time and experienced the same set of conditions as it did, the race would still have been called off; that particular storm went for a few hours.

Yeah but the race in Malaysia started at 5pm local time... I was there for the race... Simply there were no rain at 2pm but usually the rain would start at 5-6pm but it's very heavy!!!

Anyway, fantastic qualy that was and great one from Rubinho!!! I think no doubt that the weather for the race is going to be the same according to the weather forecast. Poor that Vettel is in 16th and Button in 14th... Also even the rainmaster like Heidfeld can't even get him up the grid neither Button that loves driving in wet... Vettel threw his steering wheel and he was totally frustrated with that but simply, they have no chance because the rain was getting heavier and heavier but luckily, we have a run back on after 3 minutes past in Q2 and in Q3.... Hope the race would be something like in 2003, aquaplaning everywhere!!!

Wouldn't that just put them in a even worse position? Because they'll have 5 extra cars that they'll have to fight their way through up to the front.

Other than the Red Bulls, what cars have a dry-weather setup?

Pretty sure the Mclarens do, and the Williams has a pretty much one set up for all job's thing if i remeber correctly.

The force india's really starting to work so well now towards the end of the series, Sutil with a way heavier car, so close to the top and faster than Kimi, it's going to be intense

Might be just the other way round. In the full rain Räikkönen was significantly faster when compared to the leaders than in Q3, see Q1. He said that had the rain continued until the end of Q3 he would have been higher on the grid, sounds like a full wet setup to me while the others may be running on an intermediate setup.

Makes sense to be quite honest. If we get raceable rain without the safety car we are in for a treat.
 
Kimi was also lighter and did less laps than the others in Q3. So he was able to do a faster lap earlier in the session. He might well end up with no points this race.
It's a huge risk going full dry or wet, but you gotta chose one you can drive for 71 laps, I spose.
