It looks like a Red Bull pole for sure.

They're up 3+ tenths over the Mclarens in the first sector, and the Mclarens just can't make up the time elsewhere. Anyway, we'll see. I think it's going to be a Red Bull lockout of the front row.

Dayum. Schumacher.

Yet again beaten by his team-mate, though.

I think we have to give Williams a pad on the back after this session, especially The Hulk. Fantastic driving from him so far 👍

Hmmmm... There's gonna be some hot air in the Ferrari pits. At first I thought it was Heidfeld secured the 10th position but oops, it's Schumacher!

Button on 4th... on the hard tire. That's a good sign... Could he pull an upset like he did in the very first race of the season?

Last laps for everyone.

Woohoo! P2 for Hamilton! Plus five places...

Alonso 5th behind Kubica.

Kubica 4th.

Button relegated to 6th... but he's starting on the hards and could take Alonso on the start.

Yeah absolutely superb drive from Kubica, I think he has a great future in F1, seriosly, one of the world champion candidates.

edit:Hamilton might be in more trouble

Hamilton will start from eighth due to a gearbox penalty meaning Robert Kubica will start third ahead of Fernando Alonso in the Ferrari, who never looked capable of challenging for the front row. However, it could get worse for Hamilton, who is currently under investigation for blocking Nico Hulkenberg during Q3.

He looked like he was trying to give him clean air.

The guy who should be under investigation is Schumacher for that booty shaking he gave Alonso before pulling aside... several corners later.

Still doesn't bode well for his hopes at a title.

Best case scenario for Mclaren: Button overtakes the first four as they pit and builds up enough of a lead to keep clear of them till he does his single pitstop... Vettel has to stay ahead of Webber and Alonso or Kubica leapfrogs him. Hamilton ends up fifth or sixth, depending on his luck. He's faster than Kubica or Alonso... but he'll have a hell of a time overtaking them both.

Best case scenario for RBR: Fault-free race... enough pace over the first stint to stay out ahead of Button after the pits. No funny stuff from the boys.

Best case scenario for Ferrari: possibly third ahead of Kubica. The Ferrari doesn't quite have the pace to take the RBRs in a straight fight. If the RBRs tangle, Fernando's chances of taking the championship lead is good.

The forecast says there are no expected rain until the evening.. Should be a clear sky race I think.

I'm pretty sure that was just Schumacher playing games. Alonso was on his out lap.

Button starts 4th, with hard tires. Interesting tactic, since he will start slow, then pick up speed on soft tires. Is it a good tactic? Sector 1 is a very hard place to overtake...

For Hamilton to still be in the running for champ after 3 DNFs he isn't in THAT bad of shape

I think they were saying Vettel was going to start on hard too? Or maybe soft to try to pull enough of a lead to then pit

I have no idea but that just has been showed on the TV. Looks pretty bad!

EDIT: It seems like he ran wide at the 130R and whoop going sideways to the barrier. Could be a stuck throttle!

Massive crash for Di Grassi. Looks like he's out.
Did anyone see how fast he was going? Why?
He came off 130R at slow pace. For some reason, his back left wheel is off, and the front spoiler is damaged. I have no idea why.

You must start the race on the tire which you qualified on. In Vettel's case, the soft tire is his only option to start on.
