Hmm, with their 8 engines per season, are they allowed to fix them at all?
 
I think the rules state they are only allowed to change/repair specific parts of the engine, so they can't just keep patching together engines.

Yeah, if they fix up an engine, I think it counts as being an entirely new engine. But if an engine blows, the teams generally don't repair them - I think it's too difficult. Or maybe a better way of saying it is that the effort isn't worth the gain.
 
Nice picture.

Funny to see Alonso in his overalls. Superstition or does love Ferrari that much? They must be a bit sweaty. Probably a sponsor thing though.

I will go for Massa to win and Alonso second. Really tricky to call but I remember Vettel in Turkey last year making a bad error on the first lap and also wandering off track a few times at Bahrain.

It'll be interesting to see what Hamilton and a few others behind him can do in the race and whether the top 3 can keep the lap times up.
 
I thought swapping an engine was a 5 grid place drop?!

Still the BBC coverage is on now - so we'll find out soon enough!

EDIT - Gah wasn't paying attention but I don't think Massa has been dropped... HRT's both start from the pits though.

Apparently you are allowed one 'free' engine change i.e. without penalty. Subsequent ones throughout the season will incur a penalty. I'm not sure if this is 100% true but seems to be the general consensus on other forums I visit.

ANDDDD... start. Rotten luck for Webber... seems to be a problem. Even rottener for Sutil... he's dropped all the way down... don't know what happened yet...

EDIT: nothing wrong with Webber's car... just a little too much oil, I guess. One HRT out...

Hamilton is all over Rosberg now, maybe the Mclaren has better race pace than the Mercedes?
 
Seems Mercedes GP don't have the pace of the other top teams. Rosberg and Schumacher are holding up Hamilton and Weber behind them and are losing touch with the Ferraris up front.
 
Vettel is really pushing hard, amazing how Hulkenberg did that spin :scared:

Must be frustrating for Lewis and Webber... they've got the pace to stay with the top three... if only they could get around the Merc GPs.
 
im looking at the live timing vettel, massa, and alonso are running really close laptimes right now
 
Typical Vettel on pole, starting to drive away with it..

Was scared for Webber at the beginning, but he was just messing with us xD.

Hoping Webbers going to make up some places soonish, that Schumachers starting to get on my nerves.

Oh... okay... Petrov out with suspension issues. Thought it would be another wheel nut fiasco for Renault. Kubica sets fastest lap on fresh tires. Front runners starting to come in.

Pitstops for good teams in the 4+ second range... maybe later in the season they'll be in the 3's.
 
I was trying to find a service earlier, I know that there are a few for a paid registration, for free.. I haven't found any so far. I think you can do it if you live in the UK with BBC but I don't think its likely anywhere else sorry.

Vettel with a great stop. 4 seconds stationary... fastest of the front-runners by far.

Second HRT out. Bruno did good while it lasted. Sounds like a lawnmower as it stops... :lol:

They're still not in the 3 second range people were hoping for. If your team does a fantastic job, it seems 4 seconds flat is the norm.
 
I'm getting really excited for the Webber Button battle, considering I am a Webber fan and my best friend is a Button fan, him being the same super competitive GT driver I talk about often, when we race split screen in the same cars the splits are always 0.0xx. Super exciting.
