I'm looking at this track for the first time. This track seems very crazy to race on. I will say this- the little carousel leading to that chicane that leads to the Start/Finish straight... that section is pretty cool. Tough, but cool. I'm a bit skeptical about the overall flow of this track. It's like a proper Grand Prix course... also with some street course sections with some of the high walls. I'm very concerned about how the flow of the race will be when the cars race proper on Sunday.

I have my doubts, but this track does look pretty good to me. What happens here could really shake things up heading into Brazil and Abu Dhabi to close out 2010.

And for 10 internets

How many world championships between them?

36. Or 42 if you include Todt's 6 Ferrari Constructor's championships. I remember seeing an article about that picture; the only 2 surviving champions who weren't there were Raikkonen and Piquet.

The sad part is I didn't even have to look any of that up.

36? Not looking it up also I don't get such a number. Maybe I'm wrong somewhere but I only reached 35.

Prost - 4 / Jones - 1/ Mansell - 1/ Hakkinen - 2 /Villeneuve - 1/ Rosberg - 1 / Sheckter - 1/ Schumacher - 7/ Hill - 1 = 19

Alonso - 2 / Button - 1 / Lauda - 2 / Bernie / Andretti - 1 /Jean Todt / Michelle Yeoh / Brabham - 3 / Stewart - 3 / Surtees - 1 / Fittipaldi - 2/ Hamilton - 1 = 16 B]

If Piquet (3 ) and Kimi (1) were there it would amount to 39 , a very impressive number of about two thirds of all WDC since the start of F1

How many championships did Michelle Yeoh win?

She ruins that picture.

:dunce: forgot the 1984 one, sorry :dunce:

It's a French (small) President's modern mania. Carla Bruni, Michelle Yeoh ... :sly:

Glad I'm not her, wouldn't want to go to bed with someone like that every night!

Though she probably only sees him as an oversized purce anyway!

LOL, he was even more impressive in the mid-seventies, look for him here:

Here is a cool video I found. I know it's Red Bull (surprise surprise coming from me), but it does explain the track well. And it shows what the track will look like when everything is built.

Nice video! It is ironic how realistic the graphics look, given that the content itself is so unrealistic... for a kick off, it looks to be set about 10 years in the future (although it will look great if all those building plans actually happen), but also, it shows Webber and Vettel racing cleanly, wheel to wheel and it doesn't end it tears... how realistic is that?!

As if to prove just how dusty the track is, the Safety Car fell off the road this morning, and nearly took the Medical Car with it:

I waited until 2:00am to watch the first practice session so I could see what the track was like. I also wanted to see how the cars would manage on such a dusty track surface, but I wasn't expecting the Safety Car to have problems

I am not a fan of the circuit; some corners are so slow they could have stop signs! At least that is my impression from the F1 2010 game :)

But it should make for a lot of overtaking maneuvers. 👍

Yeah, that pit entrance is wonky and may be a bad accident waiting too happen 👎

Go Mark 👍

I recognized some of the past champions, but not all :)

It's a good thing Taki Inoue is nowhere to be found.

I always found it funny how Senna wasn't a champion at the time of the photo (1986 Portugese GP), although they had all won races that year at the time of the shutter release (eventually Gerhard Berger would join them).

Prost looks lonely in the most modern photo...Jackie, John, Jody, and Damon all appear to have saved their driving suits for a rainy day.

I don't think this track is too bad from what i've seen, even with the slow turns in sector 2.

We will see whether or not it provides decent overtaking manouvers on race day.

Surprising. I wonder if they were just testing some things out and in the next practice will be able to sort out his aerodynamics

Accurate weather forecast, anyone? F1 website says 'Sunny on qualifying, but rain on race day'. This information is vague, but it gives a rough idea.

A couple of changes have been made to the circuit overnight - a bump in turn 16 has been ironed out (to the annoyance of several drivers who seem to have worked its presence into their setup already), and an exposed wall on the outside of the same corder has been moved back. The white line of the pit entry has also been removed so that drivers wishing to pit can take turn 17 at racing speed.
