These guys are doing pretty good for never having driven here before... but the wet will definitely be a struggle for the first few racing pace laps... nobody knows where the puddles form, whether they'll have grip over the curbs, and where it's safe to push in the wet (they've already figured out where it's safe to push and overtake in the dry, but the runoff may not be as gentle when it's covered in water).
The scenery around the venue is still pitiful, but hey... it's under construction and it'll look better next year.
The disappointment is the conditions... this is a truly wonderfully designed track, and it's a shame that the first ever F1 race here is compromised by the poor weather.

Bravery is nowhere near what it used to be in F1. Look at Spa. Look at Monza. They're just a bunch of metrosexual, image conscious trend setting girls. Give me back the the pre millennium drivers anyday.

Mind you, the cameras on the cars showing the spray is insane! That'll take some balls to drive in there!

Anyway, you want bravery in a sense of stupidness? Would you call Jackie Stewart a "metrosexual, image conscious, trend setting girls"? He was the first driver to really push for safety and help reduce deaths and bad accidents.
There are other racing sports that has pre-90's levels of F1 deaths if you want to see some "bravery" on the edge of stupidness.
Subtitles on BBC kept calling intermediates as "idiots"....I was wondering why they were calling Lewis an "idiot" until I twigged that they were talking about tyres....
Now if Ferrari and Alonso were in their position it would be a different story (they would be labelled cowards and crybabies) lol
