Unbelievable [/drool]

edit: Also is not BMW M1, is BMW 1 Series M Coupe, and also those are (good) photoshops.. actually car has not been unveiled fully yet, and neither have all the exact specs..

... I'm sure it's going to be an awesome car though :D

It's... not a BMW M1 but it's a BMW 1-Series M. I know, name confusion but that car will be known as BMW 1M. Confusing eh? Better not to...

From what I heard from the reviews, they really like this car, sort of like a rebirth of the E30 M3. Sort of... Those pictures up there are difinitely a photoshop because as MatskiMonk said, the car has yet to be unveiled yet, so the ''photoshopper'' up there just got the inspiration by just looking on the front-edge left of the car :p

wow, the photoshopper who did these is incredibly good, really. They are some of the best I've ever seen. The only clue to this bein' a chop is the front fender air exit, but other than that, amazing work!

Likely to become my favourite M-badged BMW when it comes out. I like the 1-Series, I like the coupe version even more, and although the pics above are apparently a 'shop I think that's pretty much what it'll look like and looks good enough to me.

The only thing that'd make it better in my eyes is having a naturally aspirated engine and less weight to give a true E30 M3 spirit, but that's not the way the world is going. And anyway, if BMW's previous M cars have been anything to go by, they might make a Clubsport or GTS version of it or something anyway.

I think that 1M looks great,

The E30 Is one of my favourite cars the image above was taken at my local donington park after a 4 hour endurance race.
Nothing would please me more to see the 1M do the same. What an amazing sound BMW can produce, with an induction kit and full system It would sound like mount versuvious burping.

Bring on the 1M.

Terrifyingly ugly and stupid. And why are the exhaust tips not toward the middle like they're supposed to be?

So many things wrong with this car, I hope nobody buys one.

Well, personally I'm not scared of it, and to be honest I think the way they've handled it makes a lot of sense.. so many things right with this car, they will sell all of its limited production run....

Minus the fact that the guy in charge the project tested every M model car that has been produced, and decided this needed to handle like the E30 M3.

I'm excited for this car, and reviewers are loving it.

Wow, I'm digging it. The 1-seres coupe is the only BMW currently on sale that I do really like. I saw my second Dinan tuned 1-series coupe in white today in Plano and it looked and sounded

Will it "handle" like an E30 M3 while weighing 1000 pounds more?

If by 1000 pounds, you mean 200 to 300, probably. The old E30 weighed around 2800 pounds, and the new 1 series is around 3100.

It might do... sure it weighs more, but then again tyre and damper technollogy have moved on a long way since the E30.

The 135 is over 3400 pounds. The M-version of it will probably (though obviously not definitively) be heavier still, so he shouldn't be that far off when all is said and done.

The two exhaust pipes at the right don't have a shadow. Decent PSD though, could be fixed easily.

Apparently a soft top version of the 1 M Coupe will follow.. but personally I would also like to have seen the 3 door 1 receive this M treatment, the 3 door version weighs less than the coupe too!

I don't think it will weigh more than the 135i does already, it's not like they're sticking a bigger engine in, and I'm sure they will have done some work to lighten the car in other areas, like a carbon fibre roof for example.

From what I've read, the M model will weigh less than the regular 1 series models.

Or I may just have all my info mixed up; I am lacking the coffee today...

I suppose it depends. If it does have the rumoured carbon fiber roof, it will probably undercut 135 by a little bit (though I can't imagine by that much). If it doesn't, though, I can't see how it wouldn't end up at around 3500 or so.

Fixed that for ya.

I've never heard of an E30 weighing 2800lbs. Every one I've weighed, seen weighed, or heard of has been in the neighborhood of 2500lbs. Wikipedia & the brochure might say one thing, but reality is another.

-> I refuse to call this 1er, M1. Why everyone calls this M1!?

-> This is the M1:

:grumpy:

-> I'd call it ///M135i, it pays homage to the old school ///M635Ci. :indiff:

Only non-brainer will call it an M1 because the real name of the car is the 1M, more to like the pure M version of the 1 Series like the M5, M3 etc... They cannot call it an M1 because it's been used and it's a supercar name for a BMW. Afterall, this whole name is just overly complicated...

Calling it an M135i is also ummm... Not right because there is already an M-Sport package of the 135i M-Sport :(

I think the name of the thread should be changed because this is not an M1...
