I can remember when Mark won his first podium of his career, he performed overtakes over the ailing Alonso around the outside of that right kink, and he made them stick at the chicane quite comfortably, its all about the car and its capabilities, you cant just all of a sudden loose the rear without a mechanical failure, he lost it becuase he tried to get back on the racing line when he was too far wide, he should have bailed out of the chickane and braked in a straight line, he tried to make the lap, and paid the ultimate price with a serious accident, simple logic, equals simple conclusions, driver error.
