 Interview just now with Kyle Busch:

Dick Bergen: "Was it the car, was it the crew? Give youself alittle credit too"
Kyle: "...Did you just make that up?"

Kimi seems less dead from what I remember from F1 interviews. He almost laughed, and did smile.

Interested to see how the race plays out tonight.

Can't wait for the All-Star tomorrow.

The camera was watching him in the garage this morning during final practice, and to me he looked a bit out of place and/or didn't want to be there. Not saying he doesn't, just looked that way.

I also didn't like the fact that he was describing what the truck was doing to Kyle Busch, and all Busch did was nod his head and had this "I don't know" look about him.

Well, it's a much different world in a stock car feeder series garage as opposed to an F1 garage. It's like the first day on a new job, it may take a little while to be fully comfortable.

It was the same way when he pulled on the track in traffic. He was getting passed all over the place, he just seemed to be in the wrong spots.

I know that he was saying the truck was very loose, and being as he's not been on a 1-1/2 mile track, perhaps it was uncomfortable. That is just how they drive though, so maybe Busch was just not very concerned with that. I do know they worked to tighten him up for the race though. He's going into the deep end tonight though. I don't care what he's done before, you don't get aero loose in an open wheeler

I do hope he like it and decides to stick around for a little while. Rather than do as he said in his media interview this morning. "If I totally suck, there is no point in coming back." This is just too competitive to be awesome all the time out of the gate.

Green Flag!

Edit: Got loose and caught the wall. Minor though.

That's because he's the highest paid driver in motorsports and he's not even working.

So is Kyle Busch going to sit out any Truck or Nationwide races this year so someone else can win a damn race?

Unless they are not companion events with Cup on the same weekend:

On a happier note, good run for Kimi finishing 15th.

*sigh* Ragan is in. Jr will go in by the fan vote no matter what the commentator says because the fans don't care about anyone else. While I'm at it, I bet $20,000,000 that "Most Popular driver of the year" will also go the same way. Seriously, the fans are completely hopeless :indiff:

I think Mike just summed it up well: Checkers & Wreckers

Good thing he pocketed bonuses from Segment 2 & 3.

My mom and I were loling for real.

EDIT: OH FUUUUUU forgot to record it for my dad *rewinds as far as I can and hits record*

nascar and speed deserve a giant fail tonight. 4 1/2 hours to race 140 laps. ridiculous

i do think the waltrip brothers make an excellent broadcast team though

They need to cut down all the pre-race stuff.

i agree. fox has done a good job of it this season but speed failed. it seemed like 30 minutes at least from the end of driver intros to start of the race

Because its "All-Star Night". Speed hypes the living hell out of it for months, then throws in more hype before the actual race with the Showdown, then the intros, then the festivals and finally the race.

Bayne will miss the 600.

Bayne to skip Charlotte; next Cup race at Michigan; #21 at Charlotte? Trevor Bayne will make his NASCAR return next week in the Nationwide Series race at Chicagoland Speedway. As a precautionary measure, Roush Fenway Racing and Wood Brothers Racing have decided to withhold Bayne from NASCAR competition this weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway, but subject to any unforeseen changes, the 20-year old driver is expected to fully resume his regular racing schedule beginning at Chicagoland in the #16 Roush Fenway entry. He will make his next Sprint Cup start in the #21 Wood Brothers Ford two weeks later at Michigan (June 18.) "By all standards Trevor had a great week," said Roush Fenway president Steve Newmark. "His symptoms have completely subsided. He tested at Virginia International Raceway on Tuesday, had one of the fastest Nationwide Series cars on the race track and his team was extremely pleased with his progress. As a result, we plan to have him back in competition next week in Chicago, and have consulted with his doctors at the Mayo Clinic and the NASCAR medical staff about that timetable".
"Of course, Trevor is a competitor and he wanted to be back on the race track this weekend," added Newmark. "However, we feel it is in his best interest for us to exercise an abundance of caution with this matter and withhold him from racing this weekend; especially considering the length of the races and the fact that Trevor is just starting to get back into his daily routine. Although Trevor would have preferred to compete in all 900 miles this weekend, he respects and understands our decision and will shift his considerable focus to his return at Chicagoland next weekend."(Roush Fenway Racing), no word if the #21 Wood Brothers Racing team will run the Coca Cola 600 with another driver or withdraw from the event.(5-25-2011)

Glad to see he is making good progress though.

Also.

Kimi Raikkonen tested at Virginia International Raceway, the 3.27-mile road course in Danville, on Tuesday. And, according to multiple sources at the track, it took only a half-dozen laps for the former Formula One champ to rip the nose off the front end of the #7 Dodge he was testing for Robby Gordon Motorsports

Guess someone forgot to tell him it wasn't an F1 car.

Hate that once again Trevor will miss a race but I can see why given the race distance of this particular one.

Guess someone forgot to tell him it wasn't an F1 car.

He's just fulfilling Robby's usual quota of wrecked race cars per race

The Coca-Cola 400 will be broadcasted LIVE in German TV via the Austrian channel "Servus TV". :D Yey, not only finally in TV again, it's also in HD. ('^o^)

What is it about these National Guard cars and turn 4 of the last lap??? In the same day, might I add.

I know, right? Seeing the troops reaction earlier, they have to be just stunned at this happening twice.
