Anyone else getting tired of everyone comparing Kyle Busch and Richard Petty this week? In my opinion, Kyle isn't anywhere near the winner Petty was, because most of his victories have not been in the Cup series. 👎 He goes for the easy wins, hence why he runs in the Nationwide and Truck series so much. Until he can get to 200 CUP victories, the comparisons should stop.
Hate it or love it, Kyle Busch's name is going to be scattered all across the NASCAR record books by the end of his career. Many hate him, and that's fine, but to pretend he isn't an extremely skilled driver is just blatant disregard to the facts of life.
I respect Kyle for having a ton of racing talent and he does put on an exciting show. However, I despise how he carries himself. He loves to rub his nose in when he's doing good and whines like a baby when something doesn't go his way. More so, it drives me nuts every time the bobble heads on TV says that he's becoming "more mature" only to do something reckless on or off the track. That's not what I said.
What I am saying is, his 100 victories does not compare to Petty simply for the fact that only a handful of them are from the Cup series. Yes he's a skilled driver, but until he gets 200 Cup victories, the comparisons should stop. I agree with what Darrell Waltrip was saying the other day, in that there are several other drivers out there that have been more successful than Kyle (like Jeff Gordon) that don't have as many overall victories because they didn't spend as much time in a truck or nationwide series as him.
When Kyle can surpass Gordon in Cup series wins, then he'll get respect from me.

You would have to admit, though, that at least he has a personality. It's not a good one but hey, someone's got to play the role of villain and does it well. This basically describes my problem with Kyle. In short, I respect the driver, not the person.
As for all his "wins" in the Nationwide or Truck Series, I didn't know beating up on lesser drivers with superior equipment was such an accomplishment.
He would still have to win a championship at the Cup level, though. I don't think any number of wins will put him in the elite level without it.It is an accomplishment if you do it 200 times though...
This is one reason why I decided to not do NASCAR fantasy this season. That happened to me far too often in an old Yahoo fantasy league I played in. Made me despise fuel mileage races with a passion.Today was great until the last few laps. My fantasy picks were 2nd, 4th and 5th until the last lap, and Smith having run in or around the top 10 for most of the day until he ran out of gas with a few laps to go. Overall, glad this race is over, never like this track. 👎
Maybe NASCAR should shorten that race from 301 laps to 300.![]()

Something tells me they were just waiting until the break to do it. Same thing with the change for Allmendinger. It might have saved Brian Pattie's job...
On Race Hub Newman said he thinks there should be a double feature at Daytona for the July race. He said something like 200miles on the oval and 100 on the road course. I wanna shake his hand. That would be awesome.
Would be great if they ran more road courses but the ones in charge are scared of them.
Road courses bring less fans than ovals, and they can't seat as many.
GTPorscheThat's a terrible excuse for not adding variety to their season schedule.
