Fantastic session, glad that Button is alongside Hamilton, although not that he's on the dirty side of the grid. Sad about Raikkonen, Massa and Alonso, but as I stated in my previous post, they'll have plenty of tyres for tomorrow. Schumacher really impressed me, he's still got some raw pace and the Mercedes can finally show that. I hope that he wins at least one race this season.

If he pulls that move tomorrow I'd be amazed.
Not in F1, nor around the MacLarens, but he may get in a position to do something like it to one or another. Hope the tele will keep an eye on him. Expect some good moments out of him. 👍

Brilliant Session ,shaping up Nicely .Oh and I wouldn't want to rub it in but here in the Middle east we get F1 for free so umm Yeah :p .

I hate that I couldn't watch qualifying, but of course, I wasn't gonna stay up all night so could watch it. Then, tomorrow, I'm gonna have to avoid this thread until about 6 PM.

I couldnt have pronostic a better top 3. Just wow I'm so happy right now lol.
Really nice job Mclaren and Romain. Raikkonen, Alonso and Massa where?

Also it's quite funny to note that most people thought the Mclaren nose would bring problem when actually its' the stepped nose that seems to disturb the view of the drivers a bit, it seems they can't see their front tyres as much as before from what the tv guys said.

Finally actually saw #F1 Quali.

My 2cent:
MacLaren drivers at 'ease'*
Ferrari drivers 'livid'*
RedBulls 'struggling'*
Schumy 'effective'*
Grosjean epic!!!

Just saw the qualifying on the BBC, must say I'm impressed with romain, however I hope he doesn't fall behind during the season due to lack of money for upgrades on the car(not that it needs them!) it seems that mclarens move with the different nose style also has paid off, especially on the Melbourne track. Will be nice to see how it performs on different tracks though.

Fk the coverage on channel ten is awful. The "host" in the lounges just terrible.

Oh man! I know what you mean!! Every time it came up i briefly switched the channel.
I was hoping for insight into the teams and F1, but instead they kept giving me that crap.

Just finished watching Qualifying on Speed, brilliant gonna be a awesome season. Cool to see Norbert Haug so happy, can't really blame him with all that Merc power up front...

The qualifying was fine, but there's a whole mountain of canines the BBC have fornicated with for that coverage. The commentary team are fine, as is the presenting, but the footage is weak and disjointed - and cut more than an emo's forearm.

Im glad they enforced the 107% rule... The HRTs were moving chicanes in Q3.
Also glad to see 3 teams closely match in terms of performance this year and even happier that one of them isnt Red Bull.
I will be suprised if any of the Ferraris finish the race... Im betting they will end up in the gravel trap before lap 30... its a shame... they seem to have presented us with a 2011 williams type of car...

We wont be seeing the finger any time soon... thank God.

Yeah the footage wasn't good, didn't even know about Perez having a gearbox issue, and then there was a red flag in P2 I'm guessing that's what it was for, I just hope the race highlights are good.

I haven't seen any of the BBC footage, but I dislike Allen & Edwards. What are they like?

It gets straight to the point which is the main thing. It also saves time for people who want to watch both the Sky and BBC coverage. No advertisements is definately a big plus on BBC's coverage. Don't know about Croft being the lead commentator on Sky (Commentary is a bit surreal due to being used to him and Davidson doing the radio side with the BBC previously), Ben Edwards is doing a solid job for the BBC 👍.

Seriously? You don't even know why the red flag came out? Man the sky at my friends place is a godsend if the BBC are that bad.

Alonso went off first corner which stopped the session.

Yeah I was baffled by the red flag. Commentary seemed fine to me, the guy in the pits though, he sounded so bored, he was no Ted.

The BBC footage - unless I blinked and missed it - didn't even have a red flag. I assumed there was one because one minute Alonso was backwards in the gravel and the next everyone else was coming out of the pits...

I knew about alonso coming off the track, then it went to a yellow flag and obviously changed to a red.

none of my friends near me have sky or have no interest in f1, I can't wait for next weeks race in Malaysia just so I can watch a full qualifying session and a full race.

That's on Sky too.. :indiff: China is the first live race for BBC.

No, it really isn't.

First attempt at editing quickly after a qualifying session. Surely it will get better in time to provide a better flow as they will realise what needs work to fit in. Will see how well BBC do the race highlights compared to Sky's live version tomorrow to see if they cover everything well. I think they will have further online content to supplement it too, good to have more perspective from both BBC and Sky anyway.

Oh, I'm going to have to look at the list again of all the races shown on the BBC...only another three weeks left then.
I prefer china to Malaysia anyway :)

That was so good! I wish it could be this mixed all year but I doubt it will. At this point I hardly care that McLaren are on the front row and Vettel is 6th!

However, every car looks disgusting. Even the McLaren, which is the lesser of several evils.

I mean, the OBCs on the Mercs and the Loti are truly horrible.

They had ten hours. What they produced was rubbish - just showing the three sessions (with the stoppage cut out, though it would have been nice to see a red flag) would have been a billion times better.

The BBC coverage of qualifying was ludicrous. 17 minutes of useless chit chat and then huge chunks of actual qualifying cut even thought the programme was easily long enough to show all of it.

This is the problem with highlights though, but I do like the pre-race stuff too, I would of happily settled for just seeing the whole of Q3 and part of Q1 and Q2

Annoyed that Button couldn't shoot ahead of Hamilton. He must have had a mistake. I don't know if anyone else caught it, but at one point in his final flying lap, he was 4 tenths up on Hamilton's lap.
