Really spectacular drivers in BMWs lineup. I am so ready for the year to start.

BMW wins the championship on driver talent alone lol. Stole the top drivers from each of there rivals and then took the champion factory drivers.

I think it's expected for them to be a little less competitive sometimes because they simply lack of expereince compared to other teams from Audi and Mercedes and their car is pretty much very brand new - well the rest are brand new as well. But I wouldn't be too dissapointed if they're less competitive in their first season.

Question now is what will come quicker, WWIII or a new Mercedes driver?

Norbert Haug has only seen two drivers confirmed for their effort this year (Parfett and Schumacher) and theirs another 6 seats to fill. The lack of any news coming out of Mercedes is a little sad for me as someone who is really quite taken by their whole image and by their tuning division of AMG.

I think it is pretty certain they could decide to remain largely unchanged from last year with drivers like DC and Susie Stoddart being retained.

Dont forget
3. Jamie Green
4. (possible) Mika Hakkinen

but overally mercedes driver lineup isnt strong at the moment especially compared to the likes of BMW.

I think I've missed quite a lot of news. With Mercedes drivers aren't confirmed mostly, what about Audi?

I don't seem to be able to be in touch with the sources many of you guys do so I have no way of knowing, but nobody seems to be mentioned other than who is already in. Mattias Ekstrom, Rafel Frey and Timo Scheider.

I would like to see Olivier Jarvis retained.

Well I can expect Ekstroem, Frey and Schneider to stay and hopefully Oliver Jarvis too... I didn't really follow DTM that much but I think Oliver is a good driver. I don't know where he would go if he's out of DTM.

I think Audi is grooming Jarvis to move into the WEC program whenever McNish finally retires. Might not happen soon, but Jarvis definitely deserves the chance.

BMW have released their livery design for this year. Looks pretty good!

I'm not sure whose car is this, but I'm guessing it could be Team Schnitzer's.

According to Autosport, all six M3s will carry the Castrol Edge livery. Which will be very confusing, unless they run something to differentiate each of their drivers.

Wait a minute, I'm not sure if it's me or you but the article says ''One of the six M3 DTMs will run in the green and blue colours of its backer Castrol EDGE.'' so not all six of them...?

In that case, surely I think all the cars will have the Castrol EDGE decals but only one as it says will have the green and blue livery. Also, I'm guessing there might be one car running with Deutsche Post livery because it is presented during the car's launch.

It's been re-written since it was uploaded. The author evidently realised he had made a mistake.

I think the author is drunk, too much Bavarian Beer... I think Autosport has a reputation for good quality articles. This is going to make people confused!

I;ve noticed a fair bit of mistakes in Autosport..

btw the Muller thing is still wrong. Muller to ALMS. Werner to DTM.

^^ I'm guessing Priaulx will be driving in that BMW Corporate livery. That's also already on my desktop

Two down, 4 more to go...

Actually, I reckon it will be Martin Tomczyk. He is, after all, the reigning champion. It makes sense to put him and the number on in the BMW corporate car.

Yep, that makes sense but afterall Priaulx is a long time BMW factory driver so it also makes sense that they're putting Priaulx in. Whatever it is, there will only be one of the 2 candidates that might be driving that corporate car unless BMW decided to run 2 corporate cars...

My guess is that BMW will run Schnitzer in their colours since they're the team with most of BMW's history, the other two teams will have the other liveries imo.

The Castrol car looks weird with the Ultimate logo on the top but no BP 👎

Actually, I think the Castrol EDGE BMW and BMW M is run by Schnitzer because Castrol is BMW's biggest backer so I don't think RBM or RMG will run it instead of BMW's own Schnitzer.

but Schnitzer has run BMW(red white blue) colors in practically everything they have raced for BMW in years past.

Except for the WTCC days...

For some years already I've never seen any cars on the DTM grid have 2 cars of similar livery for the same team. Will it change this year? Who knows.. But as I said, I think the Catrol car will definitely run by Schnitzer as it's BMW's own running team and Castrol being BMW's biggest backer.

I dont know either. The release says only 1 of the cars is getting the Castrol Edge Livery.
Also Crowne Plaza seems like a bigger sponsor than Castrol. Castrol usually gets minimal branding in all there other racecars. Its the Crowne Plaza that gets plastered every which way.

I still think that Schnitzer is getting the corporate livery. Schnitzer is BMW. Very unlikely they would run Castrol colors considering Castrol is not the biggest sponsor in the team. Its a technical partnership .

Crowne Plaza came from RBM in WTCC, they'll probably stick with Priaulx, if they're going to be involved with DTM at all...

Crowne Plaza was on not only WTCC but also
1) ALMs RLL cars
2)ILMC Schnitzer cars
3)Nurburgrins 24 hours and Spa 24 hours efforts of BMW.

Crowne Plaza is everywhere lol. just cant get enough of Crowne Plaza haha!

Wonder who penned the deal. He must be a racing nut! Thank You Corporate racing nuts! We need more of you guys.

That's true, only 1 car will have the Castrol livery and that as I have said 2 times already that it might be run by Schnitzer as Castrol is a big backer of BMW and Schnitzer being part of BMW's factory team but like I said in the previous page the Castrol will however be present on all other BMW cars too as a small decals because they back BMW as a whole.

Crowne Plaza is also a big BMW backer but it is unsure if they're going to have a big part and have their own livery for DTM...

EDIT: And yes, the Corporate livery will surely be run by Team Schnitzer... That's a no doubt.
