I wonder what Hamiltons demeanour will be like in the press conference.

Not as good of a performance as I would have liked from Vettel, but as long as he gets 1st and Alonso is out of the points tomorrow, I'll be happy.

I can't see how in any possible circumstance a red bull can win at monza. If there's any circuit I can guarantee they won't it's here.

He was never going to get pole, but the short-gearing may help him tomorrow, he's probably going to need to make all of his passes in the Curva Grande though so he may find it tough, especially since it's a predicted 1-stop race. I want Webber to make a good comeback tomorrow but I can't see it happening.:(

They won here last year. Probably wouldn't have if they had ran the same gearing as the others though. It all depends on what the others are doing, Red Bull, mainly Vettel, will be at the very best they can be tomorrow, it may be enough for a podium, but it all depends if McLaren, Mercedes, Ferrari and Lotus mess up or not.

They won last year with clever gearing, so maybe they are hoping lightning can strike twice.

I can. Turn one here is made for calamities to happen on the first lap. It is really bad track design :ouch:

You could tip toe your way though from further back and take the win easily.

Vettel is surrounded by Mercs, if he cant get away by DRS time he could be a goner for them :scared:

Initially, yes, but the merc tire wear may help him out.
 
Red Bull won at Monza last year thanks to the blown diffuser. They made up so much time through the chicanes and corners that it negated their lack of top end speed. Without the blown diffuser I don't think they have much of a shot at winning tomorrow. This is McLaren's race to lose.
 
Hamilton said his lap was a "decent lap" and he didn't use all of the track through Ascari so his chances of victory look good, Button should be good in the race but I doubt he will be much better than Hamilton at looking after the tyres because of the nature of the track. Alonso seems to have had mechanical problems so it will be interesting to see how Massa enters the first corner.

Did you miss the fact they don't have blown diffusers this year? Last year they had so much downforce that it made up for their awful straight line speed. If he finishes ahead of the mercedes, I'd be surprised. How is he going to keep a mercedes behind him in the DRS zone?

Ferrari were trying to be clever by using each car to slipstream the other, on Alonso's one and only hot lap at the end of the session he apparently had some sort of issue with his car.

EDIT: Hamilton quote from the bbc website "I had much better laps in practice. I didn't think that lap was anywhere near good enough."

If he could win there last year in a Red Bull and 4 years ago in a Torro Rosso, he can win again this year.

We aren't in 2011 where the red bull is fastest almost everywhere.

I think when he won in the Toro Rosso it was wet in qualifying and in the race, Hamilton looked good but had a bad qualifying because he set his lap when the track was at its wettest. I really can't see Vettel passsing many people around here unless Red Bull have went for less downforce than everyone else.

They only get penalties for engines and gearboxes. If an anti-roll bar is broken, then they're allowed to fix it on safety grounds.
 
Bad luck Schuey. I'm not raising my hopes up just in case more bad luck occurs on him. Hopefully McLaren have a flawless day tomorrow.
