Look at the Position Felipe Massa is in!!

The guy has nothing to lose in terms of championship and Ferrari would rather have Alonso win the race anyway! I think he will be leading by turn 1. He is in it to win it tommorow.

I think he will be fearless into turn 1 because if it goes wrong at least he can take a Mclaren or 2 with him.

I've never seen bump drafting in single seaters before, someone was just doing it in the Monza GP3 race. :D
 
It will be a McLaren 1-2 with Vettel taking the final podium thanks to a good strategy and excellent tyre management. Kimi in fourth and Alonso in fifth.

Schumacher will retire, Rosberg end up in twelfth and Massa will bring the car home in tenth or so after a normal Massa race with a few good laps at the start followed by a punctured rear tyre.

So much will happen in the first corner and I don't think excellent tyre management will be as advantageous as it normally is because this track is probably the least demanding on the tyres.
 
My predictions are this:

McLaren gets a 1-2, Felipe and Schumacher fight out for the first few laps, then Schumi gets tire issues and takes an earlier pit stop. Felipe will pit as well, with Vettel having a nice gap on Rosberg in the opening laps. Rosberg will then drop to 9th by the end of the race. Kimi gets past Vettel in the DRS zone, and then will be at fourth, until Massa has a dodgy pit stop and Kimi gets into 3rd. Schumacher is in 6th, with Vettel not too far ahead. With faster straightline speed, Schumacher gets past Vettel, only to retire by the end of lap 37 with a gearbox problem. Kobayashi drops 3 places at the start, and Alonso sneaks by to 6th. Webber finishes at 7th.

My (horribly) predicted top 10:

1. Hamilton
2. Button
3. Raikkonen
4. Massa
5. Vettel
6. Alonso
7. Webber
8. di Resta
9. Rosberg
10. Perez

I will be shocked if Massa finishes ahead of Alonso, providing they are both still in the race,
 
Wouldn't surprise me if the plan for Ferrari was to jump the two Mclarens then slow them down as much as possible.
 
Probably doesn't mean anything but I just watched the Speed coverage of quali, and in a montage of images right at the end of the show, it briefly showed Jenson talking to Luca. Hmm.

Martin Brundle said he was walking around all of the garages so it probably doesn't mean anything.
 
At this time of the season there are always rumours flying around, drivers talking with other teams etc etc.
But the one surrounding Schumacher with what Bernie Eccleston seems to be the one with the most validity. And that means there may be a space at Mercedes up for grabs.

I'm gonna go Alonso top 3, 2 DRS zones and Massa looking like he can hold them up slightly plus Alonso looking very quick over all practice sessions I think he'll be very strong.

Does anybody know if he's gonna get a penalty if they change it? I'm guessing as its a safety critical part then no but I have no idea.

If you mean Alonso's car, then no, he won't get a penalty as it is a safety issue. If it was engine or gearbox related, he would take a penalty.
 
it wouldnt surprise me if they gave up massa to get the two mclarens at the start, and then blame him

Thought that was the case, it's gonna be tough but I think it should be a excellent race.

It's a big ask for Massa to control what's behind him with so many fast cars and so many passing opportunities. I think the Mercedes powered cars will be hard to pass and defend against.

I wonder if they kept the rollbar from Spa and perhaps it was damaged, or it didn't like the curbs. The bad luck is starting to roll in.
 
I've also noticed Alonso is getting a share of bad luck now. Jeez, if people would jinx Alonso the same way they'd wish for world peace, there'd be no more conflict in this world!
 
If he could do a 2011 style start, he could gain 3-4 places in the beginning and pass Vettel with the DRS. Or his car will break down.

Massa hasn't been on top all weekend, so I see mo reason to predict him somehow coming out in front. Hamilton and Alonso have been the top drivers this weekend, and Button came out ahead of Massa in both practice and qualifying. I predict Massa won't find himself in either of the top two positions except maybe briefly when a McLaren pits first, and I would be a little surprised if he scores a podium because I sort of suspect Alonso will finish ahead of Massa, with or without team orders.

All that fuss about Narain out qualifying his team mate and overtaken at the first corner.

Arrrggghhhh why do Mclaren do this to me. Yet another screwed up pitstop for them. Let's just hope Hamilton can still win now buttons out of it.

Well done to Mr Vettel, can't believe he got first and Alonso got second. Nice to see a Toro Rosso on the podium though.
