Can't wait for this race, you can't read to much into Australia so we will learn whos quick and whos not tomorrow

I hope Kimi can stay within the top 4

Jenson and Perez have such a bad car at this point... It's a shame. I really like Jenson driving style when he have a competitive car.

Sorry I had to, from autosport site. ;D

It was a very good day at Sepang. Rained a little 40 minutes into FP2 but then stayed dry. The clouds were there though. It then rained again at 7.30 in the evening and I went home wet. Haha!

I'll upload the pictures soon but here's a video I took at the main straight. I will post more vidoes ;)

I'm not so sure about Button. He is good, yes, but he actually had a good car last year but was dramatically overshadowed by Lewis in 2012. The only reason he finished as close as he did to Hamilton in points is that Lewis retired from roughly one in three races, usually by no fault of his own, often from either the lead or at least a high track position.

Last year wasn't great for Button it's a fact. I think McLaren team didn't do their job helping Lewis and Jenson... to many mistakes and bad race decisions.

McLarens philosophy of not having a no 1 driver has made them miss out on driver championships twice too many times and I think thats why Lewis finally left.

I understand why they had to do it with Alonso when Lewis was a rookie but when Jenson joined they tried too hard to make Jenson comfy and it basically made Lewis leave eventually.

Sorry to go off topic.

Cant wait for p3 and qualy.

I dont think it has anything to do with it since he's sharing n°1 with Rosberg at Mercedes. He left because he wanted another challenge, something different than what he's used to.

Ferrari and Lotus still look like the overall quickest cars to me on race pace, if it's a dry race I can see it being between them again.

I heard he left because he hated Ron Dennis's management. True Ron is no longer managing the f1 team but he still manages McLaren as a company.

Anyway my pick for the win. Kimi.

The only reason he finished as close as he did to Hamilton in points is that Lewis retired from roughly one in three races, usually by no fault of his own, often from either the lead or at least a high track position.

Button had his fair share of issues and DNFs too last year (Crashed into from behind in Korea, car failures in both Monza and Bahrain, pistop issue which cost him a win in China etc.), but most of his problems were down to a poor setup (His Engineers steered his setup in a different direction to Lewis' after Malaysia, which explains the difference in performance they experienced after the first couple of races). Once he had the issues solved he was getting regular podium finishes. When he has a good setup, he can easily match anybody in a race (Though leaves something to be desired in qualifying which often leaves him caught in traffic). But, he absolutely needs a car he likes underneath him to perform, unlike Alonso and Hamilton who can work around problems. Button has exceptionally good spacial awareness too, and is one of the few drivers on the grid who can be relied upon not to cause unnecessary collisions.

Lewis is extremely fast, but can often make bad decisions in a race and shoot himself in the foot. For example, racing wheel to wheel with Maldonado in Valencia 2012, or the failed overtaking attempts he made towards the end of 2010 which cost him his title challenge. That is excluding the mistakes he made in 2011, as everybody has the occasional bad year and that is the only year where in my opinion, Lewis failed to perform, as Mclaren arguably had a car as fast if not faster than the Red Bull for the later part of the season. 2012 was equally a bad year for Button as Lewis had in 2011. He did get shafted by Mclaren in 2012 though, that should have been his year. I can't blame him for leaving.

Either way, I don't think either Button or Perez can do anything in the current car. It's like 2009 all over again, the car is a dog and needs a lot of improvement, which i'm confident Mclaren will deliver. The Mercedes should be good for a podium if the circumstances are right, but at the moment Ferrari, Red Bull and Lotus are the teams to beat.

I'm just worried about how long it might take to bring the MP4-28 up to a competitive performance ability. I trust McLaren to do it, just not sure it will be early enough in the season to catch up to Ferrari and Lotus.

Vettel will come around eventually too, as always, making a podium finish for McLaren seem pretty difficult. I hope they catch up quick, but in the current situation I'm pulling for Kimi

Last year Ferrari insisted in the pullroad suspension system...and maybe that cause them to lose both drivers and teams title. This year McLaren started the same way with the same "idea"...

All the other teams, specially RB, Lotus and Mercedes didn't put themselves in such risky experiments and decisions.

Teams suspect the top dog to have an unfair advantage? Where have I heard that 4,000 times before?

Although saying that I suppose they might have a point this time.

Usually when they say that, they talk about a small advantage, but here they're talking about a big one. Much more significant than even RB's bendy front-wing.

It's interesting though, I never thought of that connection that's brought up. Hopefully the teams can glean something from the realization and apply it to their cars somehow so the rest of the field can catch up.

Even if they did get the advantage out of that, so what? Pirelli has chosen it's own car to test the tyres with. It's not that Pirelli was forced to only use that car.

If I'm right all the other teams voted for the old Renault car to be the test car to test the new tyres with. They thought it wouldn't have an impact as it's 2 years old.

Red Bull don't look to be doing so well. But it's only Q1 so you can't really say anything now.

Another superb performance from Bianchi. Just a few tenths shy of the rest of the pack and almost a second clear of the next best new team driver. He is in a league of his own right now.
