Well Brazil aren't my favourites anymore.
They needed a shoddy goalkeeper to score 3 goals.

Good game of football, good start to the tournament 👍

Gosh, the ITV studio got their glass windows cracked after being pelted with rocks from demonstrators on Copacabana beach.

Further proof nobody likes Adrian Chilzzzzzz.

Lets hope this game doesn't start a trend of poor refereeing decisions...

Eurosport are based on Copacabana, have no glass windows and have Joey Barton spreading his opinion....:sly:

Well even they know what pain Adrian Chiles brings us all.

Bloody hell, they must really hate Adrian Chiles.

ADRIAN CHI... Damn.

That's got to be scary. Being in there with that happening.

Love how everyone had the same joke lined up.
They're lucky Townsend's not in there either.
They'd be using flares to get rid of him.

I'm wondering how they are going to get back to the hotel :scared:

Pretty hollow victory tbh. The fact that a side like Brazil at home won through a penalty that was completely BS is poor.
In my eyes that was a draw, and if Croatia held Brazil for most of the match they should be able to handle the likes of Cameroon and Mexico
Yeah, that penalty was a hell of a mistake, but they didn't win through that. We could annul that penalty and it would be 2X1. :D
Brazil also kept attacking most of the time.

I hate when people say this, just not counting one event, and leaving the ones after that one intact
Woah, no hard feelings brow, that's just a game.

Had the right calls been made, it would have been 2-1. But it is what it is, score should have been closer but three points are three points.

Not necessarily. If the right decision had been made, Croatia would have played a more defensive style instead of trying to claw one back right until the third goal (if you recall the disallowed goal)

Like this person says:

Either way, and regardless of the decisions made, Croatia did do well to hold Brazil back whilst for 75 minutes (until the penalty). It will be interesting to see how Mexico and Cameroon do in comparison...

I'm watching "highlights" of the opening ceremony, and my god is it lousy. It's like a high school production of the Olympic Games opening ceremony. And the performance of the official song by Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull was done with the worst sound balance I have ever heard, to the point where the sounds were indistinguishable from one another.

This so much. I'd die happy if that never made it in to a "World Cup top xx" show. Don't ever want to see that again.

It was more a problem with the acoustics than anything else. The microphones weren't placed properly, and they weren't tuned correctly.

Brazil will really need to pick up their game after this, they dominated the match statistically, but it didn't show at all on the field. Offensively in particular, they just didn't look threatening at all, had they been up against a half-decent goalkeeper like Hart or Lloris, not a single one of those goals would have made it through.

On a side note, I don't see why everyone is blaming the referee so much, he made a blunder on that penalty but the rest of his calls were solid, I've definitely seen much worse.

The poor acoustics masked over the fact it was a poor song anyway.

Anyway, for a football fan, Brazil-Croatia was the opening ceremony.
