France has really gone a long way since losing to Ukraine in Kiev half a year ago.
 
This French team could go quite far in this competition, i know they are in an easy group but they look really impressive..

The standard of refereeing just gets worse. At least wait until it's in a neutral part of the pitch, not getting fed to the striker at the edge of the box.

Switzerland had the easiest of the UEFA Qualifying groups (up against Iceland, Slovenia, Norway Albania and Cyprus). Hence contributing to the ranking of 6th
 
Speaking of the rankings, Costa Rica should fly up them after the tournament, should be up at least 15 places by my reckoning...
 
Well, here are my scoreless predictions for the round of 16 onwards based on what we've seen so far with just a hint of Japanese and Brazilian bias.

Not to mention he doesn't see Belgium advancing to the last 8, and he puts the states in there

I hope USA won't get destroyed by Portugal(and maybe even win), Sunday. Who knows, maybe Ronaldo will be out. Or we score one goal and spend the rest of the game putting 11 people in the box on defense.

Its seems like nobody in the USA cares about soccer until we qualify for the World Cup and actually have a halfway decent team. Last time I knew, nobody here cared about soccer. Without Timmy Howard, or Dempsey we are nothing.

But i'm hoping US and Germany both win their second games so it will come down to the last game to decide Seed 1 and 2.(which we all know Germany would win).

I remember Leeds got one from their own half in the FA cup against Spurs last year, but the ref blew just as it was kicked and it rolled over a few seconds later. (Keeper was sent forward)


Anyway, after 3 seconds of this game there was 2 fouls. I think this sets the expectations of the match nicely.


Also, to the people discounting Germany (cough @C-ZETA), they've had one slip-up with their current group of players, vs Italy in 2012. Spain beat them with better players in 2008 and 2010, and it's unfair to bring up the 2006 and 2004 teams featuring Michael Ballack, Olivier Kahn and Torsten Frings when talking about the current squad.
