Actually England just plain sucks at the moment.
I agree. I get that everyone wants to see them through, but they've hardly put in a performance that says "yes, we deserve to be in the round of sixteen". Their promotion would come at the expense of a team that deserves to be there when they haven't done a thing to prove their own right to continue on the tournament.

And its 1-1, goal by Enner Valencia

This has got to be the worse pitch I've seen for a long time, it's like a ploughed field.

That was something I noticed to. And not just this pitch, the other stadiums seem to suffer too.

But, great game so far. A bit too much girlie style crying over nothing but plenty of action.

And a pun about the first goal. It was a very Costly goal. Eh. Eh. Eh.

I don't like Honduras. They kick, cheat and are generally a horrible bunch.

There's a crucial fault there...you're sending 3 teams through from Group A. And kicking Costa Rica out.
Harsh.

Oops, Croatia should say Costa Rica. :dunce:

Does anyone know how many corner kicks have been in this game? I think Ecuador has had 9, but I have no idea as to how many Honduras has had so far.
EDIT: 2-1 Ecuador.

Now Ecuador just needs to upset France and I'll be very happy.

Honduras are hanging by a thread now, won't be long before they're officially eliminated.

That hand ball and the resulting yellow for dissent at the end of the first half is proof enough. That Australian referee should have carded more, to be honest.

Interesting day tomorrow.

The Nigeria-Bosnia game will pretty much decide who goes through in that Group, although with the way this tournament has gone I won't be surprised to see Iran work out a draw vs Argentina either.

Ghana also needs to at least get a draw vs Germany to stay alive in that group.

Final statistics show Ecuador had 12 corners whereas Honduras only had 4. Yeah, the statistics were a bit confusing as Ecuador had, at one point, 4 corners within 2 minutes. It was just a sloppy match, no matter how the ESPN commentators were trying to pretty it up. There was even one point in the commentary on how to draw a PK. Those two should not commentate the final game if it is held at that stadium. Flat out embarrassing.

I heard that part and facepalmed. I hate ESPN's NASCAR coverage cause it sucks, and now they tell a team how to draw a PK? What a joke. I can think of a million things that I want an announcer to talk about in a soccer (football) game, and how to get a cheap PK in a game isn't one of them.

Argentina 0-0 Iran so far, second half just started, Iran doing well...

The more games I see, the more belief I have in the fact that both Argentina and Brazil are not going to make it to the finals. Both teams are pretty much relying on a single star-player.

I'm calling Germany vs France final.

Iran have been fantastic thus far, should've had a penalty and could easily win this game....

Best save of the competition by Armero there?

Ochoa still holds that I think. Iran though are not living up to their 43rd in the world billing, great game.

Seemed very sarcastic. I'd imagine if it was apparent that it would have been caught.

Ochoa definitely has the best performance, unsure of best save though. Would have to look back at that to decide.

Mainly because it's probably going on at some level, but FIFA doesn't want to find out. I'll admit I'm somewhat skeptical sometimes about football in general. Here's another one though not an article per se.

True, the Romero save was recovering a mistake where he went forward when he should have stayed put. Was very good though. I meant the Ochoa one from a Neymar header in particular.

What a strike by Messi!!!!!!!!!

Just turned the TV on for 10 seconds and saw Messi win the match  perfect timing ;)

It takes just one second to change a game.
