2014 Nurburgring 24 hour, VLN series 7/12 teams signed up

Any decent times for a lap around Nurburgring? Joe and I were getting used to the track again. There was a lap time of 8:40.1, but that wasn't pushing it and on race mediums with a little over half tire.
Tire wear is something else around here lol. Tires are garbage around lap 6 :nervous::eek::scared::lol:
 
Times so far on mediums have been about 8:04-8:15 depending on how hard you push... everyone has been running soft tyres though (only last 3 laps when pushing 4 if your lucky) and times for that have been between 7:51-8:03

@RodeRuner1967 @joetruckv8 Are you guys running the correct specs for the viper??

Seemed like some quite good racing going on this evening. I look forward to actually joining in on the weekend =D
 
There was some really good racing, but I think the racing you Matt and TMBs new guy (forgot his name, sorry) produced in the race i spectated was some of the best all night. :)

We need to confirm hosts for Saturday. I am not competing so cannot take my usual spot of hosting Room 3.

Can we assume that Jonnyb1990 will host Room 1, memto89 and will host Room 2? Is so can the 3rd CCR driver 'Jammyozzy' host Room 3 and look after the spec checks etc?
 
I was going to ask GORE if they would hire me this weekend but Mic beat me to it. Didn't know for sure before today. See you on track sometime.

I'm on this weekend so might join a race or two if anyone is on.
 
Kev, as of last night the new REST team were uncertain whether their third driver was working or not and so it could be that they might have a seat for you. Check with @LordZ1978

You'll need the Corvette C5R if you do race for them......

Stewarding:
This is a Stewarded event, so make sure you read the rules and keep your driving in check. We are expecting an Incident report from every driver within 24h of the race finish!!! If you are not aware of what one is, it is the lap and incident you had and who with.

Room opening:
Rooms will be opened at 21:00 GMT, All drivers need to have the host added to their friends list (it is not the host responsibility to add drivers)

Spec Check:
Spec Check will happen at 21:30 GMT and should last about 5 mins. Please be silent for this so that the host can get through it faster.

Qulifuying:
Will be 20 mins, The track will be changed and then changed back to remove all times. Once the track has loaded then qualifying has started. The time will be shown in the top right corner, after the clock hits 20 mins then qualifying will be over. There will be a 5 min break for any drivers to get drinks, go to the toilet etc. The host will announce this when the 5 mins will end.

Start:
The start will be a Rolling start in 2x2 formation, The leader will roll out of turn 12 at 40MPH/64KPH in the 2x2 formation. Once in the acceleration zone the leader will go at full throttle (With no lifting) and the host will call green.

Finish:
The finish will be when the message pops up that the leader has passed the line for 1 more lap. (Lap 22) you will then make your way to turn 11 of the GP circuit and wait behind the leader until the last person has reached the same place. After that you may finish the race or leave.

Scoring:
This is a team event, therefore the teams time will be added together and the team with the smallest number wins and will receive the top points. AM teams and Pro teams will be scored in different categories as this is qualifying for the N24.

1st - 10
2nd - 8
3rd - 6
4th - 5
5th - 4
6th - 3
7th - 2
8th - 1
Time progression:
This is the first instalment of the VLN series and it will take place in the morning. We will be driving through the dawn. Time will be set to 1 so that you get a good idea how the real race will work.

Coms/Text:
Please do not use headsets or the text box in qualifying of the race. Its distracting and not very considerate.

The teams who completed CSS has already qualified. Teams who missed this, but enter a VLN race can then qualify for the big one in Feb.
 
Ah I miss understood the meaning of qualifying.. thought you meant like starting positions.. not that that is going to make any difference what so ever in the N24. ^^

It will determine starting places on the grid, but thats just so there is no last min qualifying before the race, will only be warm up for the race on the day

but it is also to allow other years to enter the full race as well
 
Ah ok, I guess I did get it right then.. Whatever, still won't matter much where you start. :P (We don't really have the time to put in to place high in the VLN ^^ )
