Massa and Alonso was wheel-to-wheel contact front and rear. Saw that Alonso's right side tires both had paint rubbed off.

Not sure if the issue was related though. I'd expect the suspension to break before the mounting point for the wheel.

The way I saw it, Alonso and Massa bumped their front tyres but Massa's issue was with the left rear tyre. Could be wrong though, hard to judge without a replay.

That Lotus engine on the straights is really slow.
 
This is not good by McLaren, both cars going backwards....

If I heard correctly, Seb Vettel said on the radio that he was outpaced in the straights as well. Renault engines are crap this season, but Lotus' are even crappier because Renault is keeping upgrades away from their reach.
 
I doubt Mercedes are happy having to broadcast their telemetry over the radio every lap.

TV commentators on Fox Sports LA are reporting a top speed difference of 17 km/h between Mercedes AMG and Red Bull.

I wanted Vettel to prove himself with a lower car, but this may be just too much. Renault, get your 🤬 together...

And the fuel usage graphs show something simply amazing: Hamilton, being the fastest at the top is also the most economical. Mercedes really made one heck of an engine!

Don't know where the guys from the TV coverage I'm watching get their facts, but they're saying Renault is 30HP under Mercedes. Take it with a grain of salt, but the difference in terms of speed is mind-boggling.
 
Couldn't the top speed difference be due to the gear ratios? This year they are fixed for all season with one change allowed right?
