Messi could play in the Clasico too from what I've heard, although Barca might not need him, Neymar and Suarez's form since he has been out injured has been staggering!

That's 28 so far. Even if you discount the nine from pre-season, there's been nineteen since this season kicked off proper. Seventeen of which were sackings.

6th September - Dave Robertson (Peterborough United, sacked) League One
8th September - Paul Dickov (Doncaster Rovers, sacked) League One
12th September - Darren Kelly (Oldham Athletic, sacked) League One
28th September - Marinus Dijkhuizen (Brentford, sacked) Championship
28th September - Steve Evans (Rotherham United, resigned) Championship
30th September - Graham Alexander (Fleetwood Town, sacked) League One

1st October - Terry Butcher (Newport County, sacked) League Two
3rd October - Dick Advocaat (Sunderland, resigned) Premier League
4th October - Brendan Rodgers (Liverpool, sacked) Premier League
17th October - Mark Cooper (Swindon Town, sacked) League One
19th October - Uwe Rösler (Leeds United, sacked) Championship
25th October - Tim Sherwood (Aston Villa, sacked) Premier League
25th October - Guy Luzon (Charlton Athletic, sacked) Championship
26th October - Russ Wilcox (York City, sacked) League Two

2nd November - Richard Money (Cambridge United, sacked) League Two
4th November - Chris Powell (Huddersfield Town, sacked) Championship
4th November - Chris Ramsey (Queen's Park Rangers, sacked) Championship
8th November - Kit Symons (Fulham, sacked) Championship
10th November - Gary Bowyer (Blackburn Rovers, sacked) Championship

Nice to see Alan Curbishley back as the favourite for the Fulham job. The former bookies' favourite for every job 2008-2011.

Is it me or has this Premier League season been really weird so far?

Leicester are 3rd, Chelsea 15th and Jamie Vardy is top scorer with 12.

What's going on?!

Tempting to create a meme of the "Aliens" guy with Vardy's face and "chat 🤬 get banged" in response.

That's sad. Always thought he was handy enough. Sorry to hear that.

Argentina Vs. Brazil postponed due to this.

Another stat from the managerial departures so far: Not only have there been 27 since the end of last season but 13 of them were only appointed either last season or this season.

Lee Clark (Blackpool, Sep 14 - May 15)
Dave Robertson (Peterborough, May 14 - Sep 15)
Darren Kelly (Oldham, May 14 - Sep 15)
Marinus Dijkhuizen (Brentford, June 14 - Sep 15)
Terry Butcher (Newport, May 15 - Oct 15)
Dick Advocaat (Sunderland, Mar 14 - Oct 15)
Uwe Rösler (Leeds, May 14 - Oct 15)
Tim Sherwood (Aston Villa, Feb 14 - Oct 15)
Guy Luzon (Charlton, Jan 15 - Oct 15)
Russ Wilcox (York, Oct 14 - Oct 15)
Chris Powell (Charlton, Sep 14 - Nov 15)
Chris Ramsey (QPR, Feb 15 - Nov 15)
Kit Symons (Fulham, Oct 14 - Nov 15)

I find it rather difficult to comprehend that in 12 months time you can totally turn a club around and march up the table. What's the reason for the spate of sackings? It could be the demand of instant results or it could be inept boards appointing the wrong manager. Who knows what could have been achieved with a bit of time? It's an exceptional example but we all know what happened with Alex Ferguson and Man United; the first few years were very bleak indeed and he was close to being axed twice.

Is there a sacking culture or is it something which has always existed and is only now being scrutinised more?

Hungry/less expensive players versus players who can't be bothered any more yet are still being paid vast amounts of cash... actually makes alot of sense!

No biggie. Soon Vardy will be up there with the elites if he keeps going like this.

Really saddening what happened in Paris so can understand why Zidane decided not to play.

Anyway, was a good match. David Beckham still can 'bend' the ball, I wonder if I might be on MOTD today as I was sitting quite close to the Beckhams.

Heard it was a great match, will catch some highlights online later today....

Former Real Madrid and current France international Lassana Diarra sadly lost his cousin in the attacks and Antione Griezeman's sister also got caught up in it all but is now safe and well, Crystal Palace defender Martin Kelly also got caught up in it after watching the match but is also safe and well, a picture of him surfaced on Twitter helping the injured which has now been re-tweeted several thousand times...

The picture which was apparently Martin Kelly was not him.

Good move...

So another International break is over (albeit a difficult one) and that's it for the Internationals until February, Premier League is back this weekend and here are the games....

Saturday
Chelsea v Norwich
Everton v Aston Villa
Man City v Liverpool (5.30 Sky)
Newcastle v Leicester
Southampton v Stoke
Swansea v Bournemouth
Watford v Man United (12.45 BT)
West Brom v Arsenal

Real Madrid v Barcelona (5.15 SS2)

Sunday
Tottenham v West Ham (4pm Sky)

Monday Night
Crystal Palace v Sunderland (8pm Sky)

Two of the big games on Saturday clash, El Clasico live on Sky Sports 2, Man City v Liverpool is the big games in the PL but Spurs v West Ham should be good too....

A bit of news today, the French National Anthem will be played before all PL games this weekend, there are 72 French players playing in the league, the biggest number from a single nationality after England. And a choral version of La Marseillaise will be played after the coin toss with the players in the centre circle, I think this is a fantastic gesture of solidarity and respect 👍

Former Watford midfielder Al Bangura talks about how he came to Europe from Sierra Leone as a sex traffic worker. He retired in the summer, aged only 27, and is now working with the FA and Premier League to tackle the problem of African teenagers being trafficked into Europe.

No Rooney or Martial for United today, Memphis up top (big day for him), academy players Sean Goss and Marcus Rashford on the bench, continuing United's record of having at least one player from United's academy in the match-day squad in every league game since 1937!

The Man City-Liverpool game and the El Clasico both clash later today and Sky will provide a split screen service showing both games for those who want to watch both, I'll give it a try...

Ashley Young playing right back. :odd:

Edit: Great ball by Herrera met with a weak foot volley by Memphis.

Yes!! Memphis 1-0!!!

Watford look really clumsy, losing the ball in their own half every time.

For those who don't have a sports package, Sky1 is showing El Clasico.

🤬 you Man United. I hope you get relegated sometime soon.

OH MY! Did I just see Capoue scoop nutmeg someone!

Have they done something in this game or is this a Chelsea-like wish?

Chelsea like wish most likely. Utd look solid and haven't been threatened so far.

Fair enough, I don't really care all to much about United.

But I guess it would be funny if they were relegated.

Penalty for Watford! Silly Rojo.

Edit: Troy Deeney 1-1.

4mins later. Deeney scores an own goal. 2-1. :banghead:
