To be fair, Klopp's side were torn apart by Bayern and during his tenure he spent £130 million pounds in its entirety. Chelsea have lost pretty much nobody of note and Mou isn't exact light on spending at the clubs he manages.

Well it's a good thing Mourinho sold Lukaku, Schurrle and De Bruyne and spent the money on older players...


I hope for a player revolt that damages Chelsea worse in the long run.
 
Chelsea have a good front 3 with Willian, Hazard and Costa but their midfield and defence are just not good enough. I expect Abramovich will be topping up the transfer kitty for January but the dilemma is would a player who is probably at a team which are doing well want to go to Chelsea with the state their are currently in and European football looks like a impossible job.

City are doing their normal 'beat the big boys and lose to nobodies' thing.

Arsenal are being Arsenal and will soon have a charity raffle at the supporters club to pick 5 lucky people to fill in for squad injuries in the xmas period.

Liverpool - maybe a fairytale? Don't think they have the strikers to mount a series challenge though.

I can't see the Special One being sacked... there aren't any coaches around to replace him.

It's thrown about time and again, but the way they fall to pieces defensively without Vinnie in the team is absurd. Then again, I remember the kind of football the Potters were playing when they got promoted. That was the most Un-Stoke-like attacking performance I've seen, Barca-lite.

Some people might differ with me here, but I think that would rival with what Clough managed with Forest back in the day, considering the financial power some clubs have in this day and age. Hell, even a top 4 place would be astonishing... but then I was thinking, hoping, for Southampton to do the same last year. They will crack, sooner or later.
 
Feeling really disappointed and depressed with my teams after yesterday, 21 shots on goal with only one on target by United is pathetic and I cant see us beating Wolfsburg on Tuesday, as for Swansea, well I know we were up against the in form team but we still should've done better than that, there was no real fight by the players and its got to the point now where I expect the club to sack Monk, so not a good day at all :grumpy:

I thought Chelsea had turned a corner recently but now its just back to the soap opera...

@MUSC4EVER I'm pretty sure we're about to see the champions league door and if we do we shoukd get out of the Europa league ASAP. Buy an established striker and take the league. No offence to Leicester but the premiership has never been this weak.

Klopp and Mourinho are two completely different personalities though. I'd hazard a guess that Mourinho's behaviour is bringing that team down more then all of their failures this year combined.

Jamie Carragher said in a tweet yesterday that there will be a different guest for Monday Night Football for the rest of the season starting tonight, I wonder who it'll be tonight.

I also saw on Twitter from two different people that Garry Monk has been sacked as Swansea boss but nothing about it on SSN, today's Mirror reported that they have already spoken to Moyes about the job.

FA Cup third round draw is a bit later..

Apparently Brendan Rodgers is an "early favourite" as he would be popular with the fans because he was the one that got them promoted to the PL... I was under the impression that particular relationship is/was rather sour because he jumped ship the moment a "bigger" club came calling. @MUSC4EVER could you corroborate that?

The other in the running is, rather predictably, Davey Moyes, although I wouldn't bet on him taking the helm, assuming Swansea still want to hold to their style of play. Then again, maybe that's what is needed...
 
Bad decision IMO. Monk has been one of their best manager but that's forgotten because of a little bit of bad form.👎

I would have said the same thing about Laudrup. He even got them some silverware.

First of all just want to say that it is sad to see Monk go as he was great servant at the club for the past twelve years as player, captain and manager, Thank you for everything Garry and all the best for the future 👍

With that being said it is the right decision letting him go, we had a good start to the season but we have only won one of our last twelve league games and it didn't look like Monk was going to turn it around especially with Man City on Saturday, there were also reports that he fell out with Ashley Williams and Jonjo Shelvey, it was more than a little bit of bad form @Luke

As for our new manager, as @Dreadmed mentioned, Rogers is one of the names in the frame for it but not every Swans fan has forgiven him for leaving for Liverpool a week after he said he wouldn't, Moyes would be a good appointment IMO, Poyet is the favourite for the job but I'm not sure as he doesn't have much PL experience, although Monk didn't have any experience whatsoever when he took over!

Next days and weeks will certainly be interesting....
 
I've never understood the shortsightedness of some teams. Bad results = Sack the manager, but half of the teams don't have a replacement lined up.

Well if that's true then I can see why he was sacked, but you would have to question the views of the two players.

He has had good results, made good signings, and played good football. The only way this sacking makes sense to me is if they have someone special lined up that can take them to the next level.(i.e. Not Moyes or Rodgers)

Otherwise I feel they'll be more or less at the same level for the next few years.
