The only surprise I have over this is that it didn't happen sooner, I thought they would do it last month when he got that vote of confidence, but this has been on the cards for a little while, they have lost their last two league games to Bournemouth and Leicester and ripped his players apart after the Leicester defeat and he has been acting out all season from the Eva Caniero thing till now and he has paid the price...

A vast majority of the Chelsea supporters are disgusted with this and its no surprise as he is a massive fan favourite but this is the right decision.

This managerial merry-go round that might start has officially started!
 
Funny I went to work and read " he won't be sacked because he has the support of the fans and the players" come home to "he lost the support of the players" Chelsea has officially hit her period I see.

I've just finished my first season on FM16. Chelsea finished 2nd, 2 points behind City, and Leicester were relegated in 19th with 31pts.

Go figure.

Similar thing happened to me on FIFA. Chelsea walked it with 101 points Leicester finished 18th.
 
Sad to see it when a manager losses control of ego's in the changeroom and pays the price, I still rate him as one of the best managers in the world, so it's the EPL's loss in a way to see him go.

Good luck to whomever the incumbent is; I think he's going to have a mountain to climb to rule the dressing room - Costa seems to be the leader of the pack, followed by Cesc.

Monday is the big game but some good looking ones during the weekend too.

Rooney, Smalling and Herrera trained for United this week and could feature against Norwich, we seriously need to bounce back here...so do Swansea against West Ham.

Steve Holland and Eddie Newton to take charge of Chelsea tomorrow...
 
Some absolute crackers this weekend as well as a couple of massive games.

Probably the most interesting set of fixtures so far this season.

That's been thrown around quite a bit, although I don't see why he would if you take into account the "embarrassing" support that he received from the Chelsea fans. That really would be a stab in the back.

It's also why he probably won't get sacked at this moment; Ancelotti has been earmarked by Bayern, Simeone has his own project going rather smoothly at Athletico... the only other name that springs to mind is Pep Guardiola, and Man City have supposedly been fluttering their eyelashes at him for a good while now. Besides, he's not going to bail out on Bayern mid-season. Of course, they could install Giggsy at the helm on a temporary basis (for the second time) but I don't think it's got that desperate... not yet, anyway.

If that's true, I find that truly disgraceful. Pellegrini has won Man City the Premier League title, is in contention for the league win this season, and is still in the Champions League and Man City are planning to replace him?

Unless Pellegrini is planning to retire (possible) or has agreed to step aside for a massive pay off (likely), then I can't understand why his contract would not be renewed.
 
How about this for a fact, Leicester will be top at Christmas having spent last Christmas bottom of the table, the first team in PL history to be bottom of the table at one Christmas and top at the next....

A few mutterings on Twitter saying that United board will hold an emergency meeting in the next 48 hours, the next week or so will be very, very interesting....

I follow a lot of United fans and United news sources on Twitter and believe me when I tell you they are not happy at all!

For me its the fact we lost to Bournemouth and Norwich in consecutive weeks is the final nail in the coffin, if we lost to Arsenal and City then I'd understand but it teams who are fighting relegation and there no excuses for it, When Giggs took over for a few games last time his first game was at home to Norwich, and we won 4-1....

Speaking of Bournemouth, what a fantastic few weeks it has been for them, three wins on the bounce, I think Eddie Howe deserves a lot of credit for that 👍

Disagree, City have had the best squad in the league for years and really should be comfortably the best team in England. Pelegrini is bang average and should not have lost the title last year. Fair enough going out to Barcelona in the Champions League but he never gave them a chance by playing without a solid midfield against them either year.

If they want to progress in the Champions League and string together consecutive titles, they should get a new manager.
 
I think if City bring in Guardiola and give him a bit of money they will dominate English football.
 
I don't think Leicester will win the league. I do think that they are the 3rd most likely team to win it at the moment however.

All over the pitch they are fantastic, even if Vardy was to get injured they've got some goal scorers in Okazaki and Ulloa. The only way I see them dropping out of the top 4(bar a massive dip in form) is an injury to Mahrez. He's crucial to Leicester in a similar vein to Kompany at Man City.

I wouldn't be surprised if the current teams in the top 4 are the ones that end up there.


I'm not sure who United can bring in to change fortunes if they decide to sack Van Gaal. Mourinho and Simeone have been mentioned, but I don't think that's what's needed for them. They haven't been bad defensively, I believe someone like Ancelotti would be a better coach for them as he has a good record with attacking teams, he may be able to get the best out of Depay, Rooney etc.


Dembele is our most important player at the moment, this is probably the 5th or 6th time this season that he has been man of the match, he is one of the strongest dribblers in the league and the pressing that he and Lamela are responsible for causes opposition nightmares.

After the game today one would have to presume Aston Villa are doomed, the only hope they have is maybe buying a Charlie Austin type player who can get them some points. I can't see any other way for them to survive.

Can't wait for Leicester, Palace and Watford to be representing England in the Champions League next season.
 
Watford just beat Liverpool 3-0!!

Liverpool never really turned up and second choice 'keeper Adam Bogdan made a big fumble for the first goal after 2 and a half minutes, full credit to Watford now, just a point of the top four!, what's happening this season?!

Swansea-West Ham next, we badly need a win here, CMON SWANS!!!!!!
 
That was a shock seeing that scoreline! I thought Liverpool had gotten some momentum under Klopp.
 
A draw against Newcastle and West Brom and now a loss against Watford in the last three says not!

Real Madrid beat Vallecano 10-2, yeah you read that right!, Rayo had two players sent off, Bale got four with Benzema getting a hat trick...
