The GT350R is absolutely ridiculous.

I thought i was the only one. Remove the wing and put the GT350 rims on it and i think it looks great.

That's a shame. Everytime i visit my uncle in Perth, i always enjoy looking at those FPV Falcons. But on the bright side, i'm gonna start seeing a lot of Mustangs the next time i go to Perth.
 
I love it. I cannot wait for the 350R to get on the track and continue the BOSS302S and R winning ways.
 
Wing looks naff, but otherwise, hell yes. Me wanty.
 
I wonder if the wing is an option.
 
The last production Mustang to wear an "R" badge had this wing:

A large wing is kind of expected, for me at least.
 
Those ugly wheels are only excused because carbon fiber.

Maybe it's the wheels and the wing, but the R looks a hell of a lot like a Nissan GT-R.

My first thought as well.

Mind you, I don't dislike it. It would look like business on a track.
 
I approve. I just hope that it will be lighter on it's feet than the predecessor.

...You must of bumped your head. The C7 isn't even close to a full production cycle and to be honest Ford has now just leaped froged Chevy/GM in this area after lagging for the past 8-9 years. If anything they still need to keep punching cause Chevy can easily turn the tide. And considering the Zeta body Camaro is at the end of it's cycle and the fact that the mid engine Vette looks more likely to be on the C7 cycle along with the ATS-V and CTS-V...GM in general not just Chevy, is just fine. It's a fight now to be honest.

And Ford doesnt have a potential ATS/CTS competitor with the(I'll say it until they change their mind) Falcon canned at the end of next year. But who knows what Ford will make for the USA/Canada in that high performance luxury sedan market.

They could do something over at Lincoln...they have cars in that size class Ford or Lincoln. Them not building one in America isn't GM's issue.

All it's ever gonna be is, Mustang vs Camaro. Corvette road cars stand alone. The GT(40) comes once in a blue moon. Ford sedans continue to chase Toyoda Accamry. F-series trucks are the bread and butter. A buyer growing up on 302s would never buy a 305. Would they? ;)

I would say F-Series trucks are the bread and butter, but to each their own. I'm not much of a truck guy most days.

The rest I have no issue agreeing with but the last portion, those with thick heads many days like @Slash from time to time might grow up like that.

However, my point is that GM still has more to it's line of Sports Cars, and right now many are glossing over that cause Ford is giving the eye candy. I think Ford could beat GM and make them work harder but it's going to take more than an RS, Super car killer Mustang, and a Nostalgia trip that started back in 05 and ended in 06 to do it.

Then again since this is expanding to all things for it might be best to take it to the Ford Performance thread and revert back to the Mustang vs Camaro station.
 
I can't believe people are actually complaining about the wheels on this thing. They're freaking carbon fiber, people. What the hell.

And to top it off they look awesome, they give the car a very track-esque persona, and excuse, me, what are we seeing here? Ah yes, a track oriented Mustang.

I'm ready to say that, right there with the Cobra R wheels and the turbine-like wheels of the 1993 351 Cobra, these are the best wheels a Mustang has ever had. It could use slightly meatier-sidewall tires but no one is complaining.

Then again, it would look better with some Halibrands, right? :rolleyes:
 
I'm actually fine with the spoiler and the wheels. Though, I'm a guy that honestly thinks that looks are something that should take a back seat to performance.

And I agree with that statement, 100%. I may not quite like the way the rims look, but if they can bring the weight down by going full carbon, I am perfectly fine with that. It is a perfomance car, not a show queen...
 
Function over form in some aspects, yet I still think it looks pretty good. Do want.

This is a good point. The comparison between the Z/28 and the 350R is inevitable. Unless Ford puts some seriously track-focused rubber on the car, they're bringing a knife to a gunfight. Tires are the new horsepower war and the Z/28 is rocking the Hellcat of tires (I mean this not entirely in a positive manner).

Still though. This is the first Ford in probably a decade that I've actually properly wanted.

Ah, the most famous Mustang name returns with a vengeance. I really like the yellow one, mainly because of its carbon fibre hood. Neat touch, and it looks like the Ford GT Concept (the old yellow with black stripes one, not the new one, silly). Maybe that grille could do with a coat of black, so as not to stand out that much.

Also, 700+hp option!? Jesus, Shelby doesn't skimp on the power, it seems. :crazy:
