Didn't say they were funded by prodrive but rather built by them with money from Aston. Who owns them after that is beside the point, considering either way when they're raced it's a factory Aston driver in the seat.

My point was clearly missed on some tangent of wanting to correct me about a situation I didn't even bring up which is who owns these cars. The point was that AMR has no reason to give any support to AM teams nor does any other factory team that loans out factory drivers or money. AM should be just a gentlemen concession and pro should be where factory fledged drivers race, and if it were so then the best thing to do would be the allowance of GT3 cars which is the topic not who owns said Aston Martins.
But they are not built with money from Aston, Aston don't make enough profit to build that amount of cars. They cars are owned by private individuals who go to Prodrive and order the cars no money comes from Aston.

Car 95 was paid for by Jan Struve
Car 96 was paid for by Roald Goethe
Car 97 was paid for by Roald Goethe
Car 98 was paid for by Paul Dalla Lana
Car 99 was paid for by Jac Nellemann but ive since heard it is now owned by a company called ECM who owners surname is Macdowall.

In fact any cars Aston want to race they enter themselves for example if you look at the entry list the cars that are from Aston Martin direct are entered as Aston Martin Test Centre (see N24 list for confirmation)

Okay that's fine but what does any of this have to do with GT3 cars again? My point was Aston still gives help and Prodrive is their engineering team. Just like Joest is the engineering team for Audi. Aston factory drivers are still used. It may be a more lucrative way for Aston to go racing without having to spend as much money as Porsche or Ferrari to do it, but there is some ties even if far more limited. Which is what you seem to be pointing out. How this has anything to do with the main point "GT3 in LM series and the 24hour", is yet to be shown.

Thanks for informing us of who owns the cars and how little money Aston puts into it after the first couple cars are Homologated.

Krohn being Krohn. Starts P2,stalls the car on the roll-off then forgets to push the gas pedal at the start and loses a few positions. The race to turn 1 he locks the brakes at and loops the car in the middle of the track, restarts and then spins off again at turn 4 and beaches the car in the gravel and is down 2 laps 5 min into a 4 hr race.

And to think this team once had a podium finish in the "LMP1 Essence" class, in a past WEC race... Looks like flukes can indeed happen, if you are Krohn Racing. I don't know whether I should laugh or facepalm at such a sequence of events...

Shame they won't win the title but the win will be a nice send off for both the Z4 and more importantly Marc VDS.

Lapierre does a race in the rain and doesn't throw it off the track shocker.

I wanted either Thiriet by TDS or JOTA ti win the championship. I can't forgive Greaves for assault with a deadly weapon at Silverstone. 👎

Good to see Marc VDS won. 👍

Not sure if that's happiness or confusion.

More news, the 2016 Corvette C7.R is being tested. Looks good.

Well in regards to the GT3-R on page 94:
P&M down played it so much I thought it was going to be identical...but it ain't. Just look at those hood lines and the nose.

SMS! WE NEED THIS IN PCARS! NOW!

Now you've learned your lesson, never doubt Pratt & Miller again :sly:

Especially when there is a Ford to be beat.

You mean when there is a Ford to follow? I hope that Vette gets a good view of the rear end of that Ford all season long 👍

Imagine how big the rivalry will be if Larbre gets factory support.:D

I'm just happy to see Ford return to sports car racing.

Same...but siding with team NA V8. :p Aston Martin and Corvette must defeat them lol. (come on AMR, you can do it!)

Ford is going to push Chevy/P&M a hell of a lot harder than any other IMSA team in recent years.

With Ford going whole hog with duel campaigns in WEC and IMSA, I'm crossing my fingers for the Taylor/Larbre GTE-Pro effort comes to fruition soon.

Why will Ford push them harder than anybody else? Porsche and BMW already beat them this year.

Their crappy BoP didn't help. :sly:

I think that P&M might have begun to start holding back later in the season and probably began shifting focus to the C7.R v1.5. Not that I'm biased or anything... :P

BoP for one. Two, Vette won the NAEC if I remember correctly. Also even with BoP that championship overall was close but didn't favor Vette or Ferrari. So if the new C7 and 488 show any promise on the first outing they'll get nerfed, most likely cause I don't see USCC using a more balanced approach that the FIA seem to have. Especially when dealing with the mass waiver car.
