The scheme is pretty simple, but I like it. :D

Anyway, moving on towards Talladega...

NASCAR will make only one attempt at a GWC this Sunday. What's your guys opinion on this?

And, 15 years, 5 days ago, back in October 15th, 2000, Dale Earnhardt Sr. got his final win of his carrer at Talladega. His 10th win at the track came in a remarkable way, with a 4 lap dash from 18th to 1st with help from Kenny Wallace and Joe Nemechek! For me, one of the greatest thing to watch on Youtube regarding NASCAR.
Here's the video to it:

Good move in my opinion, they should bring the gimmick down to just one attempt for all tracks next season.

GWC's are dumb especially when fuel mileage is a factor. Multiple attempts suck even more. I don't care how exiting it is. One GWC is plenty. Can't wait until Talledega is over. I hate restrictor plate racing.

Maybe you have heard of this guy named Earnhardt (Sr. not Jr.), drove a black #3 car, they called him the "Intimidator" ?
Like it or not, agree with it or not, Brian was right, what we saw Sunday was quintessential NASCAR...always has been, always will be. There are other racing series that discourage such things if you wish.
Not sure if you heard, but the wild west is dead. It's time NASCAR gets their head out of the 20th century's rear end and move into the modern era. They should not be encouraging this stupidity from anyone on the track. It's racing, not fighting.

The problem is not the amount of GWC finishes, it's the current restrictor plate package which makes it impossible to pass without resorting to excessive amounts of bump drafting that causes the wrecks.

My one problem with that statement: There hasn't and there will NEVER will be another Dale Earnhardt. To encourage people to drive like him is the definition of being stuck in the past. Brian can call it "Quintessential" all he wants, but this is the same moron that's given us one painful gimmick after another. As far as I can tell, he doesn't even know what "Quintessential NASCAR" is other then what makes money.

I would really feel threatened if I had to have a solid finish this weekend at Talladega to make the next tier of the Chase for the Cup. Victory is not impossible, but Daytona and Talladega are such Wild Card venues that can seriously throw a monkey wrench into the standings. Can you imagine if Talladega was either the penultimate race of the Chase or even the final race of the season? Those on the outside looking in will have to have the performance of their lives to stay alive in the 2015 Chase at Talladega this weekend. But as we say, it's moments like this as to why Cup drivers make the big money. Four championship runs will end for four drivers this weekend.

One of the best races nascar ever had was at Talladega. The 2002 Busch series race where 3 cars finished on the lead lap and the other 40 were involved in some type of wreck. Cars that were barely running and 10 laps down were rewarded with top 10 finishes. But thats when racing was racing, not the corporate greed that ruined a good form of sports entertainment

Ah yes the peak of NASCAR where Busch cars had more corporate sponsor plastered on them then they did a few years back. Talk about non-corp. greed, am I right ghost of ICEYOU, eh buddy ;)

My favorite talladega race has to be the 2001 Talladega 500. It was the first restrictor plate race since the death of Dale Earnhardt so there was predictions of it being a super cautious race. Boy were they wrong!; the drivers along with the 2001 aero package put on one of the best races without a bigone occuring! The finish saw five-wide racing and the late Bobby Hamiliton winning. Mike Joy commented on how it was a great race and a safe race during the victory lap.

Hey, give them a break, they just got rid of carbs and into injection a couple years ago, what do you expect? They seem to be kind of like PD in that regard, they will get there...soon :D

Nice, been a while since we've a Monster Livery in the Cup series (and its thankfully gonna be towards the front as opposed to in the back all the time).

Also, I feel a Metallica song coming on.

UPDATE: Seems like I've misread the article on NASCAR.com a bit, my bad. This is a quote from the article:

"The re-signing of a new contract includes news of full primary sponsorship from Monster Energy for one race, as well as being the alpha sponsor (hood) for 17 races and bravo sponsor (quarter panel) for 18 of 36 races."

So. We've got the scheme shown in the picture I've posted before, and this:

Meh.

According to NASCAR.com, this will be his new Primary Paint Scheme for 2016, part time with the HAAS CNC logo on the rear quater panel, part time with the Monster Energy logo on the panel, like on the picture.

Meh.
Wow. These are hot. I'm glad someone finally made a way to integrate red into a Monster livery?

It kind of sucks that they are not going full primary for the entire season, but at least someone is willing to sponsor Kurt again after nobody wanted him due to the domestic violence accusations. It's about time that someone other than Haas himself decided to sponsor him.

Kurt has never been good at attracting sponsors.

I think both the 24 and 41 look great, hopefully this is the start of many great schemes as there has been a lack of good schemes in NASCAR lately.

Well, at least it's not (scrolls down to the second picture) ....flat black. :indiff:

Whats wrong with that? That's basically Monster's signature colors is Green and matt black.

I hope you weren't something like Ken Block's cars.

I wasn't expecting anything along the lines of Ken Blocks insane liveries.

They could have at least done something new and different, but I guess Monster has no creativity.
