Thanks for the link! The only thing I don't like about it is the tail end is too tall. I'm imagining it in WR Blue and it looks fine. 👍

If the car in that video is actually the next gen I will be extremely disappointed but also very happy to have bought my hatch. :p

Really, very, VERY unhappy with the shape of that sedan. Not nearly enough fender flare and too tall. :(

Well, the first and second-gen STIs didn't have too much of a fender flare compared to the face-lifted third-gen STI, so you never know whether it's a bad thing or not.

I don't care one bit about how it looks. I'm gonna be inside, and looks from outside only attract cops.
But I am really impressed with how composed it looks. Very little body roll, very well dampened.

Here's a current-gen (spec.C, not USDM 08-09 softly-sprung) model being tested on the ring back in '08.

Compare exit from Karussell for example.

I think this is another car that will grow on you over time.

Like the vast majority of Subarus made since 2008...aside from, for me at least, the 5GEN Outback and Liberty; they still remain pretty damn ghastly. Like a praying mantis that's taken some rapper's "grillz."

I personally am looking forward to seeing it. The STI after all has never been a car you buy for looks..

Please, enlighten me on which generation of WRX STI wasn't bland looking.

Wow the front end looks like the second gen a bit, and the back end looks like a continuation of the third gen. To me this is the best of both worlds, and I can't wait

Wait a second, what engine is the new WRX/STI supposed to have? Because the one in the video sounds a lot more like a 2.5L than a 2.0L.

I'm still confused as to why it's based on the Impreza, when Subaru specifically said it wouldn't be.
I think all they meant is that it's going to be called the "Subaru WRX STI", instead of the Subaru Impreza WRX STI.

Recent years it has been referred to as an Impreza in the U.S.

Yeah some call them that.

My good friend and team mate on GT5 has two Subaru Impreza WRX STI. One of them being a 2005 model and the 2013 model. Conveniently he works for Subaru. I love his 2005.
Anyway, he tends to call them his "STI"

I'm talking about Subaru NA actually calling them the Impreza WRX.

Yep -- I'm not sure if R1600Turbo was referring to how enthusiasts call it, but Subaru calls it an Impreza in the united states:

Yep. Subaru has always recognized the Impreza & Impreza WRX as "individual" lineups with the former having the optional Sport model & the STi for the latter.

Ohhhhh I am really liking the look of that front end so far. Reminds me quite a bit of the Evo front end. The back of the Subaru is what I am worried about.
That link says 2015 Subaru. This thread is about the 2014. Is it the 2014 or 2015?
