Rosberg under investigation.

If Nico gets a penalty the fallout will be fun.

Driver of the day, umm Perez ?

Worse news for Nico... a change of gearbox will give him another grid penalty next race, methinks.
Not unless it's a scheduled change and/or if they can prove that a failure is imminent.

If the gearbox doesn't fail any more Rosberg will finish in second place. If he keeps it afterwards is another question.

If it was a serious issue he should have pulled the car over... so serious that he can still be driving in 2nd place for like 5 laps... um yeah

Conspiration theory question: Why did they tell Nico what to do but not to Hamilton the other time around XD ?

DOTD has to be Verstappen again for me.

We'll see. Either way, not a great weekend for Nico. Hopefully he keeps that second place and anything and everything they throw at him goes towards grid placement next race.

Wouldn't surprise me if he got let off with a warning, but the next time someone else does it they get a punished.

Decent race, deffo shouldn't have started under safety car....

So yet another wet to total dry race, they always seem to go that way recently. Haven't had a changeable race in a while.

Nobody really knows what the penalties for illegal radio messages are, but I would be very surprised if they penalise Rosberg. All he did was report a gearbox problem - it was the team who gave him the instruction.

Either way, not a great weekend for Nico.
He can take the positives where he can get them: one, that he only needs a single point to win the World Championship; and two, that he finished on the podium when Hamilton won, which is what knocked the wheels off his campaign.

Not a good race. The SC start threw up some decent action early on but it didn't last. I think the Mercs and Red Bulls finished as expected, everything behind that was a bit messy.

Another great drive by Verstappen 👍

Unsafe release is also caused by the team and not the driver, yet the driver still get's the punishment. Dunno why it should be different here.

So one overtaking and not winning a place at the end is better than someone starting 11th and finishing 6th on a FI ?

I always thought unsafe release should be a wdc point minus penalty would be fairer to the driver. But yeah you're right.

I think if the gearbox failure was a result of Nico changing modes he could be penalized,

But it's Verstappen. And he's just 18. Who else should be DOTD?
(Don't take this serious)

Because it's completely different by an order of magnitude.
That might be true, but I think penalizing the driver does hurt the team more than giving them a fine to pay.

Lewis and Nico not talking.

Not surprising.

If Wehrlein hadn't gone off early on (VSC) that might have made things a lot more interesting... it just gave the leading cars (i.e Hamilton) a massive advantage that would never have been overcome unless the weather changed. :indiff:

Did they even shake hands or embrace or anything??

Lewis wins again *YAAAWN*
Nico massivly booed out on podium. (great sportsmanship, english fans.)

Nothing special.

Cool trophy, bit pointy though!

A bit dangerous though!

And the boo battle continues... lol

Booing Rosberg even though he was worse off after the crash last week and Hamilton beat him here again. Nice.
A Direct response to last time out.
