Q1 and Q2 weren't that bad, IMO; and a fresh set of boots could possibly avoid the Melbourne anti-climax.

They wouldn't have this problem at all if they thoroughly thought it out rather than trying to bring in a new quali full ham at the end of winter.

The logical thing to do would be test the system out on a lower profile formula first. But F1 doesn't do logic.

F1 or FIA most days, and I agree that would be the best thing or at least simulate it several months prior, not a handful of days before the start of the season.

They could have used part of a test day to test out the new system, or at least waited until they got it tested before implementing it.

Wow, Bernie basically insinuating that F1 drivers are good for nothing other than steering a car and shouldn't have anything to do with the decision making in the sport.

Well Bernie says anything out of spite any time he's challenged. Even when Todt tells him to calm down, or Ferrari threaten to leave.

Bernie interview on C4 with Eddie Jordan right now, seems like the only person he really talks with properly. Still just not happy with Mercedes winning and the engine format. Blamed the FIA for most of the failings.

Jean Todt interview later, should be interesting.

If you want to see what a 3 car team would look like turn over to Channel 4 now!

Yeah that was both weird and cool, never seen three cars from the same team on track like that before.

Half expected them to gift DC a win

I don't know if I like Susie Wolff as a pundit, mainly because of her accent. It's kind of a confused mix of Scottish, Australian and American and it just doesn't sound or sit right for me.

There is a video of her addressing this, you should give it a watch.

Button only 0.651 shy of Rosberg. Looks like they've actually found pace.

I think he pulled every bit of performance out of that Manor.

Wow the drama here is so exciting I can hardly contain myself.:boggled:

Thrilling end to Q1, I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. :scared:

1:30.039!!!

That is super quick

1:29.848 is the outright lap record around this track.
