Considering earlier this month he tweeted about doing some local racing this year that's not the case.

I mean, Mayfield isn't in that bad of a spot now all things considered too. He could be in a much worse place.

Oh no, I mean I thought he was in Jail serving that sentence while that mansion was being torn apart.
 
I'm actually suprised that no one has mentioned this incident with Logano



To be fair as much as I despise Logano, that was literally the first and last time he did something like that and won a race prior to last year.
 
I haven't watched NASCAR in a while, so how is it? Last time I viewed was when they were using the silly wings back in 2010 I believe. Is it still as boring as ever six years later or have things changed?

I haven't watched NASCAR in a few years, but is crashing still the major attraction in the sport? Seems kind of un-safe and un-fun to me. All of those announcers hootin' and hollerin' about how "amazing" Of a crash that was.

I don't think you were watching the same thing because in all the watching, no one from NBC or FOX or ESPN or eve TNT have once praised how "Amazing" a crash was.

If I remember correctly, every time I used to see a large pileup, it would be like watching a fight go down in hockey.

I'm fairly certain people like crashes just as much in every other series. There are obviously more uploads than I can count, but the highest viewed one for Alonso's crash already has 53,000 views.

As for the racing, it's improved some, but still isn't worth watching more than the beginning few laps and the last 30 or so.
 
I do wonder what makes him so confident about that.
 
If it were VW, it probably be the jetta, while Nissan would use the altima since that's the sedan they promote the most
 
Why Audi? Why not VW? It makes more sense from a marketing perspective. Now that we're on this, Nissan sounds like a possibility if they do what they did for their V8 Supercar program.

Realistically, VW doesn't have anything in their lineup that could compete with the SS, Fusion or Camry. Audi on the other hand, likely has one (or two) cars that can compete directly with them.
 
I wouldn't put much stock into Nissan joining at this point either. They cut back on just about everything else because of Renault getting back into F1. Dropping GT Academy drivers, half of their GT efforts and their LMP1 doesn't really open up much of anything else when the majority of the racing budget of Renault-Nissan is being put into F1 now.

Audi would make some sense, but they were part of the VW mess as well, so if no VW, then no Audi I say.

Maybe I totally missed something, but what does Renault getting back into F1 have to do with every form of motorsport that Nissan used to participate in?
 
You've either failed to read the rest of my post or you've intentionally ignored it.

I read it, apparently I completely missed where it says Renault-Nissan. I had no idea until now Nissan was part of the Renault F1 program, interesting.

Well not exactly but considering both companies own equal stake in each other and both are run by Carlos Ghosn, I can't imagine Nissan's LMP1 program can exist at the same time Renault's Fully fledged F1 program exists (especially since its with a team that has been financially struggling in addition to the current expenses of running a F1 team). In fact, I can't recall the last time a team that could afford to run F1 also ran a Le Mans Prototype program at the same time.

Well yeah, both of them were heavily involved now that you mention it. Even then though, look at how long its been. While both categories have gotten technologically advanced, F1 is in a league of its own in terms of sheer price for even the tiniest of advantages along with cars that are developed over a year in comparison to Sportscars (LMPs in particular) being developed over three years max.
