Yeah, not digging that. Seriously, what is with this obsession for oversized Snickers logos? M&Ms doesn't have one, Skittles doesn't have one.

Needs sending to "Worst Liveries Of All Time" thread.

I don't even see whats wrong with it.

It just takes some getting used to. It looks a little tacky, but compared to several of the other abysmal liveries this year, it's not too bad.

The new Red Vest still doesn't beat the original:

Beautiful.

EDIT: Michael McDowell's new K-Love paint scheme for 2016.

When the Daytona 500 pulls in 30million+ viewers annually, they can do what they want with the day. Until then, they need to shut it.

Daytona Day sounds ridiculously stupid, btw.. especially since they race the damn track twice a year.
Yup, and they only get about half of that number.

Out of curiosity, how does that stack up against the numbers from this year's rolex 24?

Any word on a replacement for the 14 car?

I would hope Alex Bowman would get the ride, but if Justin Allgaier got it, I wouldn't be disappointed.

But I predict that Ty Dillon will end up with it.

And NASCAR only has 41 cars attempting the 500? I remember the days when almost 60 would attempt the race. It's bad enough that there aren't even 40 full-time teams competing for the entire YEAR.

And we need a charter system WHY? No wonder this sport is on its last legs.

I would expect an announcement tomorrow since that's when the entry list should be released.

We don't know how many cars have entered for the 500 since the entry list hasn't been released yet.

NASCAR has supposedly looked at limiting the field to 40 cars, so that may drive some teams away.

As do I, but motorsports in general is having to deal with shrinking fields. Really the only event still around that has to turn teams away is Le Mans.

It's much easier to get sponsors when you can guarantee them the car will be in the field. I don't necessarily like it, but I understand why the teams want it. I just hope it doesn't end up like the FoM where it really only benefits the teams that don't need extra help.

The huge payout for the 500 usually encourages WAY more entrants than the field's capacity. Even last place paid over $260,000.

For comparison, last place in the 2nd race of the year in 2015 paid just over $68,000. $260,000 was more than 3rd place made in that race.

I'm sure there will be a few more teams that sign up and race a lap, go to the garage for 195 laps, and then race the last ones.

I dont think the #87 will be there. However, Robert Richardson is jumping in a 4th BK car.

But muh complaining about NASCAR going downhill

It is going downhill, but in a respectable racing sense. Economically, it's a lot better than people would imagine if you have 43 cars attempting to run all 400-500 miles, which couldn't be said a decade ago.

The biggest issue with NASCAR these days that I see is Brian France being an absolute moron. The racing has been great, they are actually making the cars more advanced (which they should have been years ago, but still), and NBC is actually making tv coverage that isn't garbage (Fox might be saved with Gordon in the booth, but they got a long way's to go).

Brian France, on the other hand, still defends the stupidity he made that is the Playoff system and then acts shocked when the stupidity that came from it happens (Kenseth/Logano, no matter what you think of that among other dumb fails in the year). Get him the hell out, put someone in with a brain, and NASCAR would truly be better.

Last year there were no start-and-park cars in the 500.

There weren't hardly any at all last year, which is great ways forward.

I stand corrected.

Where was I complaining in that sport about the sport going downhill? I was just making a false assumption of what could happen (and have now accepted the facts and relieved that my assumption is not possibly true), and now you too are guilty of a false assumption. Heck the sport is growing imo if they're managing record TV and title sponsorship deals.

@GTPorsche In his honor I'll be doing some "Larryisms" during the race. It's just not the same without reaching up there pulling those belts tight, one more time!
