I'm guessing Ford finally got tired of only having 2 competitive cars.

I do think SHR will have a year or two of slumping results though as they transition to making their own cars.

On a side note, if Bass Pro Shops keeps all their current deals, they will sponsor a team/driver of every manufacturer. Which as far as I recall hasn't happened since the 2004 Coke C2 invasion at Daytona.

Tony Stewart has been Chevy's biggest leg humper since day one. Very surprising.
And Pontiac before that...and Oldsmobile before that! Hopefully this isn't the kiss of death for the Chevrolet brand...;)

He can share valuable information on how the Fords handle when they are spinning.
Maybe he could lobby her into becoming an honorary Roush-wreckta driver as well during the time spent teaching her how to properly spin the Ford.

I am genuinely stunned. How good was that deal from Ford that made them want to jump ship? Then again, how do we even know this was a decision Tony was involved in and not just Gene Haas? (am I right, Kurt? ;) )

Speaking of drivers driving different brands, This puts Kurt Busch back in a Ford for the first time since 2005.

Stenhouse and Danica should be able to share some data with each other next year. :p

What makes you think they already weren't "Sharing data?"

It's all under the GM banner anyway.

Or was, since those brands are long gone now.

For some reason, I find that both ironic and slightly unsettling.

I got a better one!!!

Roush Racing

Seriously, this isn't even funny. I mean, crashing one computer has it's humor, but crashing the internet isn't a laughing matter.

:sly:

(On a side note, that would explain why the site went down not long ago)

After one race, how do you feel about NASCAR with the newer rules and such? For example, your thoughts on the timer thing in the Trucks series? How do you think these changes will affect the rest of the season (at least among the top three Touring Series)?

This is also in the news today...

...which got me thinking: How freaking amazing would it be to see Jeff Gordon in a factory Corvette and Smoke in a factory Ford GT at Le Mans next year? It would be especially cool with Tony, next year being the 50th anniversary of his hero and friend A.J. Foyt's win on debut with Dan Gurney in the Ford Mark IV.

If Mike Stefanik doesn't get in, I declare "bull:censored:".

Sorry, had to.

Edit: Tree'd.

I'd pick:

Red Byron
Ray Fox
Raymond Parks

Ken Squier
Mike Stefanik

Landmark Award:

Ken Squier

Bold should have been in already. How do you get this far into a HoF and not have the original owner/driver championship winners and one of the original engine builders? Also THE voice of NASCAR should have been in already.

If I were to bet on it, Stefanik doesn't get in, and Hendrick does. I don't like the idea of current participants being in the HOF.

Of those names, the biggest ones for me are Mark Martin, Benny Parsons, Robert Yates, Jack Roush, and even Ken Squier. I still think Mark Martin is the greatest NASCAR racer to never win the championship on the Cup level. Ron Hornaday is one of the best in NASCAR history. Surely he was the gold standard in the Truck ranks along with the likes of Jay Sauter. This was basically my generation as I was learning of NASCAR.

But still, how do you all feel about NASCAR with these new rules and regulations after just one race?
