One thing I forgot to mention about Richmond is that this weekend is another set of heat races for the XFINITY Series racing at Richmond. So after seeing this deal play out in Bristol, it's Richmond's turn to see heat races. And next month, expect to see heat races at Dover.

Was it only me or were the heat races kind of lame?
You could tell everyone was playing it safe waiting for the main. Which is fair enough, why tear up a car for a heat race that really doesn't matter.

I sincerely hope this gimmick doesn't make it to the Cup level.
In my opinion, you can lump this heat race crap, the caution clock and the Chase all together and toss it in the trash.

2 heat wins equal a chase berth, same as Xfinity rules, bam makes them more than just a formality

And if only one heat race is won by a certain driver and the 2nd heat is won by a different driver?

Why did Xfinity go to heat races this year?

And they're thinking of putting that nonsense in Cup in the future?

I have no words.

It's NASCAR. The only joke is Brian France and his band of idiots thinking that their idiotic and dumb decisions that nobody likes are good for the sport.

I hear they have a dart board with dumb ideas, and every day around five before they wrap up their meetings, they all take turns and see which "Great" idea they can hit. Which ever is struck is what we get, such a critical and tedious process. Brilliant men they are

full on sarcasm

Interesting technical note for those interested. I was watching NASCAR Race Hub the other day and they explained what happened to Jr's car at the beginning of Bristol. Apparently there is a brake switch that trips if it senses throttle and brake inputs at the same time that will shut off the motor if it senses that the driver is on the brakes too hard but also on the throttle. He was on the throttle but dragging the brake so when it went green he could just release the brake and get going. He dragged the brake hard enough to trip that system and essentially the ecu thought his throttle was stuck open and him braking that hard was to slow it down. So they had to reset the ecu. Interesting. Glad they explained that one.

And, because his situation had nothing to do with a domestic abuse case, nor an accident on a NASCAR track, nor blood clots, but was related to an offseason questionable move, NASCAR grants him a waiver.

I wonder if a failed drug test would also allow for a waiver.

We can have Allmendinger find out, can't we?

I hate to be like this, But as much as I love Tony Stewart if he pulls a Kyle Busch and wins this Championship because of this Chase nonsense. I literately will be done with Nascar.

To be fair, NASCAR also gave Tony a Chase waiver when he broke his leg but he couldn't get it done. I'm not accusing you of believing NASCAR changed the rules for Kyle Busch but it seems to be popular opinion for a lot of people. Tony was the first to get the waiver.

How'd you survive last year then, when Kyle Busch missed a month's more races and still won?

It's because of last years nonsense that I'm ready to stop watching Nascar.
I like Kyle Busch, I think he's definitely a Championship Caliber driver.

My problem is how are we going to call him the 2015 Champion when he missed over a Month of racing.
The way this Chase works, We're crowning a Homestead Champion.

As much as I dislike Harvick, He should have 2 Championships.

My problem is less the Chase Waiver and more the Chase itself.
I just cant stand the fact that a man who misses multiple races can be crowned the Champion of that year.

A Champion should be crowned by the points he accumulates over a Year long battle.
In my opinion the Championship doesn't mean as much now.
