Close game for both my teams (Packers/Texans). Didn't get to see either play (changing an alternator in the 240) but glad that both won.

Osweiler being benched... Jeez. No idea what to think, aside from Savage doing well as a replacement.

Suck it bungals.

The Bengals have to be the worst 2nd half football team in the league. The other team makes adjustments at halftime while we sit back and twiddle our thumbs apparently...or snap each other with towels...or play grab-ass in the locker room. I don't know. We squandered a 20-9 halftime lead over the Steelers, going scoreless to rest of the way to lose 24-20. Thing is, I knew it was going to happen too. I was surprised we were leading to begin with, but I knew we'd get our butts whipped in the 2nd half. And that's exactly what happened.

Now this is a reason to go ahead and fire Marvin Lewis. The problem is who would fill the gap? Fisher doesn't look any better.

You mean Jeff fisher? If so, God no you don't want him. He's the most over rated coach ever. At least Marvin Lewis gets you into the playoffs regularly.

Speaking of overrated, there's talk that John Gruden might take the LA Rams job. I think he's overly hyped as well. He took ready-made team that Tony Dungy built and won a super bowl, but I don't understand all the hoopla around him either. Especially that he's such a great QB guy, which QBS has he made great when he was a coach?

I was kind of hoping that LA would let Jeff set the all time losses record before firing him just to put an exclamation mark on his "Success."

Speaking of firings, Gus Bradley is now job hunting because he just got fired from Jacksonville as the HC.

We know what will happen. Mike Brown will just sign him to a 1 year extension, just like he does every year. And what will happen after that? Either we will have another year like this year, or we'll be one and done in the playoffs as usual. I mean, I like the guy. He has gotten us to several playoff appearances now. But what do we have to show for it? 0-7 in in the playoffs. Oh and Seven! He's the second longest tenured coach of any team, behind only Belichick, and yet we have gone winless in the postseason while 'ol Bill has gone on to win multiple Super Bowls. We need a change.

Panthers at Redskins TONIGHT!

You like that? You like that! Two bottom half of division teams clash tonight as the NFC is in vogue tonight. We got the 5-8 Carolina Panthers (4th in NFC South) going up to Landover, Maryland to meet the 7-5-1 (3rd in NFC East) Washington Redskins. The Redskins probably need to win out to help their postseason cause. Will the Redskins tame the Panthers? Or will the Panthers feast on the Redskins' playoff hopes?

It is Washington who is favored by 7 in this one. The Over/Under is 50.5 points. Please enjoy the game if you will be watching or listening tonight.

Ezekiel Elliot was supposed to be fined for jumping into the Salvation Army kettle in the second quarter. Elliot was going to make a matching donation to the charity. He didn't get fined, but he is still going to make the donation anyways. Class act!

...and meanwhile here in Houston, Houston Texans' coach Bill O'Brien will roll with- Tom Savage for the Texans' next game hosting the Cincinnati Bengals on Christmas Eve. Brock Oswiler got benched after throwing two picks early in the game. A roaring ovation was given when Savage replaced Osweiler. If Savage have himself a night on Christmas Eve against the Bengals, then it may be possible the Texans will stick with Tom Savage the rest of the way, including our final game of the season at Tennessee on New Year's Day. By the way, I first heard of this news of Tom Savage while I was watching The Doug Gottlieb Show.

We still have Panthers at Redskins tonight. So be sure to enjoy this game if you'll follow it.

One thing I am proud of for my Texans is how much people have stepped up on defense in place of injured players. I am not just talking about J.J. Watt, though. Jadeveon Clowney has never been better even with all the injury trouble he's had. I like Johnathan Joseph, but I also like new boy A.J. Bouye. Really, it's the defense that is keeping the Texans afloat. It used to be that the team mostly had some hard-hitting offense and a so-so defense. It's the reverse now. Tom Savage does give that offensive lift the Texans need. Savage has connected better with receivers and such than Brock Osweiler. When Osweiler gets rattled, he's a hot mess. So I feel good giving the keys to the car to Tom Savage. Osweiler is still a good quarterback, but he can only be great once he gets the proper chemistry going passing the ball and making various other decisions.

My Houston Texans are 8-6 on the season. However... so are the Baltimore Ravens, the Denver Broncos, and the Tennessee Titans. We lead the AFC South at present. A loss by us followed by wins by any combination of BAL/DEN/TEN, and we could be battling for a Wild Card instead of securing the AFC South. The one us Texans fans most have to be concerned with is how Tennessee does at Jacksonville this week. Remember I said this is the time of the season when you care about teams other than your favorite, especially when trying to make the postseason. For us Texans fans, Tennessee must lose at Jacksonville. The dream best case for the Texans would be us beating Cincinnati, followed by Tennssee losing at Baltimore, Baltimore losing at Pittsburgh, and Denver losing at Kansas City. The worst case- HOU loses vs. CIN, TEN wins at JAX, BAL wins at PIT, and DEN wins at KC.

Let's update the "in" list, shall we? Teams "in" at this point:

--- AFC ---
* New England (AFC East Champions)
* Oakland (playoff berth)

--- NFC ---
* Dallas (playoff berth)
* Seattle (NFC West Champions)

More of these will be filled out next week and the week after.

Whats really horrible is that Jeff Fisher was making $7 million this year and is the 5th highest paid coach in the league.

Gruden's name always comes up for every major college and NFL job, I think its nothing more than his agent trying to squeeze a few more dollars out of ESPN.

We need a lot of change.

We needed to start making changes before last season.

Ezekiel Elliot... Class act!

While I would consider anyone's donation to the Salvation Army a very worthwhile contribution, calling Ezekiel Elliot a "class act" is a little over the top. Since when does donating to charity make up for this:

This is the penultimate week of NFL Football for the 2016 season, and it is also Christmas week. The Playoffs are calling. Time to make your push if your team(s) is/are still in it. Give yourself all the hopes you can have. Let's check out the prime time matches for this week:

* THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL WK. 16: NYG Giants at PHI Eagles
* CHRISTMAS EVE: CIN Bengals at HOU Texans
* SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL WK. 16: DEN Broncos at KC Chiefs
* MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL WK. 16: DET Lions at DAL Cowboys

Both of Texas' NFL teams will get some prime time love. It begins with my Texans on Christmas Eve followed by Monday Night with dem' Cowboys. Before the Sunday Night game, there will be another Christmas match- the Baltimore Ravens paying a visit to Heinz Field to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers in a tough AFC North tilt. The Bengals have nothing to lose. And you know what they say- those who have nothing to lose are the most dangerous. So Bengals Nation would love nothing more than to take down my Texans. The most interesting match this week is probably the Indianapolis Colts at the Oakland Raiders.

The Playoff participants (or the "in" list as I call it) is unchanged heading into this week. In review:

--- AFC: Who's In! ---
* New England (AFC East Champs)
* Oakland (playoff berth)
(TO BE DETERMINED: AFC West champ, AFC North champ, AFC South champ, 1st Round Bye, home field)

--- NFC: Who's In! ---
* Dallas (playoff berth)
* Seattle (NFC West Champs)
(TO BE DETERMINED: NFC East champ, NFC North champ, NFC South champ, 1st Round Bye, home field)

Just a few things to think about as we get ready for this Christmas week of NFL football. So enjoy the games and good luck to all of your favorite teams.

There's also the playoff losses Cincy had to Houston that we'd like retribution of.

It's go time, and it's show time tonight, GTPlanet. Get ready for the Giants at the Eagles to kick off this Christmas weekend of NFL Football. Enjoy the games!

The G-Men are still gonna make the postseason, right? RIGHT? I love Eli, except when he has nights like that....

Jerome

Eli has been off all year, that 2nd-to-last post throw to Beckham Jr. sums it all up. Last year, they connect on that play for a TD. Our O-line has been abysmal as well but that has been the case since 2012.

I'd say that's how Lions fans feel, but I frankly think most are just shocked that Detroit will have a winning season this year.

And best of all, the NFC has to go through Dallas. We win even on our days off.

By the way, NYG is out of the post season.

Not yet, and highly unlikely. They have to lose to Wash, ATL,TB,and GB have to win both of their final games and DET has to beat DAL this week then lose at home to GB. ATL and TB both play NO and CAR the final 2 weeks.

Enjoy this Christmas weekend of NFL action, including games today and tonight. Good luck to all of your favorite teams.

A Christmas miracle for Cleveland just lost them their #1 draft pick.
