Hinchcliffe might be a nice guy but that's twice in a week he's been involved in someone's retirement....

Yup.

This is where the fine line between defensive driving and offensive driving is going to be pushed back and forth.

___________

Will is powering away and and Graham is going crackers trying to keep up.

___________

Good run for Rahal - almost a victory of sorts. Congrats Will.

Rahal finishing 2nd after finishing 33rd might as well be a victory for him, even if Bobby was yelling at him on the radio during this race.

If clattering the curb at a dumb angle and spinning someone isn't their fault then I give up.
When he went over the curb to avoid driving right into the Russian's door, I'd say he did all he could to prevent contact

Along with this...

Hinchcliffe could have just crashed into Aleshin and whoever else was near them at that corner. Instead, he took an evasive maneuver and still ended up have Aleshin drive across his nose coming out of the corner.

Race stewards didn't find any reason for him to be penalized for what he did either.

Nothing like IndyCar Racing at Texas Motor Speedway. Some people even say it's the spiritual home of IndyCar Racing with all the intense action. I'm expecting some pretty good action at Texas tonight.

Good luck to all drivers and teams tonight at Texas. Race hard and be safe.

I would have to disagree with some then. I believe the home (spiritual or otherwise) is at a 105 year old track located in a suburb of Indianapolis (Speedway) hence the name Indycar 👍

Fan Force United is looking to enter the series next season with Stefan Wilson driving. They have a letter of intent from a sponsor, so it seems like this could actually happen. http://www.racer.com/indycar/item/104764-indycar-fan-force-united-plans-indycar-team

Also, big news on the *gasp* Aero kits! Indycar is looking at a revised floor for next season, the series has already done 2 tests, and has plans to do 1 more along with a wind tunnel analysis. The new Aero kits are expected to yeild a huge gain in downforce on the road/street courses, and will get rid of the "airbox" on the current car. http://www.racer.com/indycar/item/104771-indycar-progress-continues-on-aero-kits-new-floor

Going to be a wet-dry race today.

Luca Fillipi starts 4th.

Edit: Skies just opened. Looks like it's going to be a very wet race whenever they get going.

If it was proper time for slicks, he'd be lapping faster, not equal to the others that aren't on slicks.

I guess what the others are doing doesn't matter, if his times on the new slicks were faster than his times on the old wets it was the right decision.

Kimball to slicks.. not even dry enough for them yet.
A bit of tyre temp and he is matching the laptimes of the others now so it was a decent call with a bucket load of hindsight.

I'm guessing Firestone has copied the 'Slickters' that Michelin uses in the WEC? :dopey:
