He only went airborne because he was backwards in the grass next to RHR's car so he had no air on his to not go airborne. If they don't make contact on track, they don't spin into the grass and Briscoe doesn't go flipping.
You act like there's never contact without pack racing. How do you want to forbid a three wide on an oval as wide as a runway anyway?

The nose digging into the grass was a sickening impact but I guess that it was better than the alternative of the roll hoop digging in. Until that horrible hit that must've been the most spectacular race I've ever seen.

At this rate, Indy Car will be racing strictly at road courses in the future. Let's be frank. If this few people came out to watch today's race, even less will want to watch a parade.

Thank goodness for the safety of these cars and the safety crew. They have been far above put to the test this year. Huge respect for the safety team and the designers of the chasis.

I agree with Marco!

Before, we just had parades, with no excitement. Now with this, we have excitement, but it's on the dangerous side. They're going to have to find a happy medium for this to work well.

It's called stick to Milwaukee, Iowa (small ovals) and Indianapolis and Pocono for ovals. :p

Well unfortunately, this argument alone is what will Keep Indycar racing from ever getting better. People will want safe racing but then we'll get the parades we get in NASCAR and attendance rates as well as TV ratings will just go down the toilet whereas others will want more of this racing and attendance may go up but so will the potential of death.

Again...stick to Pocono, Indy, Milwaukee, Iowa for ovals. Texas and Cali' are just as bad as Vegas'.
