He wasn't at the back in Indy Lights either. 6 podiums in 14 races last season with a win at Iowa.
 
Yeah that's true, must be said though Lights have Struggled with Numbers for a long time now and at best get Half the entries as the Main game on a Given race.

If he can Get in the Top 15 by the end of the season I would say that more or less shows he has a future.
 
Didn't Mind Chaves, he had some Speed on the Ovals.
 
I feel so frustrated with the driver crisis. IndyCar could be doing so much better, but it's still clawing for scraps.

His personal backers might've defrauded BHA $4 Million, depending on where and what you read.

It's heartbreaking that Indycar as a sport still has to struggle so much to put a grid together and that the teams seem to live off of business-to-business sponsorships.

I can't tell if that's sarcasm but I'll answer as if it isn't: No, NASCAR did not have a split in the 1990s. I think @GTPorsche is saying that NASCAR itself as a rival motorsport did not do as much harm as the split did for Indycar.

Had there not been a split, I think that both series would be in a fierce competition with ratings and attendance.

Yeah I agree, but at the same time the IndyCar organizers would've had to be careful, trying to find old series calendars online from the early 90s is hard, but from what I have seen IndyCar had a lot of races in a season and grew a little each year,

IndyCar's popularity is down because motorsport globally is down, but you cant keep going to the same venues as other series over and over, money is tight for everyone, they need to go to places that don't have major races and establish events there,
 
No excuse really for places like Fontana. Best race of the Damn season and it got cut because 1) They scheduled the 2015 race head to head with the Sonoma NASCAR race and 2) This Labor Day calendar layout essentially denied them the ability of becoming a season finale again. There's still stupid people in management and I don't care how much it's "growing", with Miles at the helm we are on our way to a stalling out.
 
The rumor is the #98 BHA car with Andretti will be Rossi, unless there's another ex-F1 driver out there...
 
Maldonado would have to find a sponsor. Rossi had the funds required for the Manor F1 seat, so he shouldn't have trouble getting an Indycar ride or one of the available spots in the Manor WEC team.
 
Ex F1 driver could mean Mehri, Stevens, or even Sutil. Not very clear there, but Rossi is obviously the preferred one.

Ex F1 driver could really be anyone from the last 12 years that was anywhere on the grid that would be around 40 years old or lower,
 
IndyCar remains the most frustrating sport...some great drivers...competitive cars...good availability of tracks...and huge financial failures/issues everywhere you look. Really quite sad.

That being said, we have a fantastic Sportscar craze going on right now, so at least we have something in the states to be happy about.

But, our current Sportscar series (Pirelli World Challenge, Weathertech etc.) are attracting lots of foreign interest, new manufacturers etc. There is definitely more positive "buzz" about that stuff than Indy.
 
Sportscar racing's growth is mostly being driven by amateur drivers, something a series like IndyCar can't really take advantage of*.

*Amateur drivers aren't necessarily the same as pay drivers.

And to think 12 months ago their lineup was Huertas and Dracone. Props to Coyne, that's a very respectable turnaround.
