So, that's 7 Indycar races this season and no wins from any driver in the Penske or Ganassi teams.

Did anyone expect that to happen?
Quite a shocker, but I doubt that drought will last much longer.

Great to see another first time winner today. 👍

Danica....again....why did she spin when nobody else did besides trying to avoid her? I clearly understand wet+slicks don't work but ffs, she was still on the turn when she floors it as if she was gonna make a pro move in the first corner which, I might add, would've probably crashed there, too. 👎:grumpy:

I remember that. It wasn't so much she was going to attempt any crazy moves because (Hello!) the ground was wet! Anyone will tell you a touch of throttle in those cars with the front wheels turned a bit will easily spin the tires so what do you expect to happen when the track is wet?

Most exciting street circuit race I've watched. Congrats to both Conway and pagenaud. I doubt we'll see a two race format anymore especially with how aggressive the drivers were.

I think Simona will be good down the road, but I'm not hyped up on Danica like most of you all and that's not a predjusice, I promise. Like I said Simona I think will develop into a solid road racer. Danica really wasn't impressed abit or dome anything to say she is actually a good driver. She is with a good team and she still does nothing and frankly if she was a guy I don't think she could even find sponsorship, in fact I'm sure of it. For anybody who wants to play the "oh, she won a race though" card let us all remember that that race she honestly only won because she was a girl. That's not predjusice, that's science, she is much lighter then the other drivers so there fore when it came to fuel milage she was able to go a bit farth then everyone else at the closing laps of that race and didn't have to pit. She also almost always seems to be pissed at somebody often for no fault of theirs and too me seems to come across a little unitellegent in her interviews. I mean, Jesus Christ, she got pissed at Morgan Sheperd on the Nascar side, one of the older drivers and one of the nicest guys you would ever know, because he spun into her when she presured him down below the banking on the third lap of a race will running in the 30s. Her lack of stock car intellegence clearly shows too.

I think it's a shame that drivers can gain sponsors and fans simple because of their gender and we are unable to look at all drivers fairly by skill. I mean Ana Beatriz, and no disrespect to her because she is still young, just got a full time ride at Dreyer & Reinbold Racing and she really didn't excite in her races last year and crashed at least once, while very skilled and proven drive like Tony Kanaan is job hunting right now.

Hate when I stumble onto such biased and lesser educated assessments. First off, Danica is an almost completely unique case. Most drivers will struggle for years before they get a sponsorship, and rarely any as loyal as GoDaddy, because Danica was key to the 'GoDaddy Girl' advertising campaign. So already, Danica's career is set and she doesn't have the same incentives.

About the race she won - the 'she weighs less' card doesn't fly in sustained speed races, really. Under acceleration, altering additional weight momentum takes more energy, but once the weight's momentum is already up to speed? Aero drag would have a much more significant effect on mileage. Do you forget how many pounds of downforce the cars have when they're at race speed?

You mention not being prejudice but it's exactly what you're displaying with this attitude. Everything you've said puts her in a negative light. The Morgan Shephard incident- you must remember it wrong. Louden, NH barely has any banking to speak of and they in fact mention that. I've also checked other race footage to see if her line was extra shallow, and it's not.

So, Danica moved to NASCAR. She had 2 'stockcar' starts along with her 2 partial seasons and a full season in NNS, 10 Cup races, and now 13 so far in 2013. However, she's learning things most other drivers learned over a decade ago. Haters always claim 'its such a shame someone can get sponsorship due to gender', that she doesn't deserve it, etc, etc. It's called reality in an American society, and GoDaddy is the ONLY person with the authority to judge whether she deserves it, and it's even under contract. Anyone who lacks a financial interest in her career has no place to judge her for learning in Cup rather than ARCA or some other series 1st.

Interesting video. Talks about how they plan to make the cars fast enough to break the 236.9 mph Indianapolis lap record in 2015 and the future of Indycar

I think it would be really great for the sport to let them try and chase the 240 barrier

Dunno where the whole Danica argument started but I don't see the same "not good enough" discussion going on for the 25 drivers currently ranked below her in the standings at the 1/3 point of the season?

Great racing in IZOD this weekend though right?

I only caught the end of Sunday's race but is a rather good finish.👍

There are only 5 people below her in the standings that have started every race, none of them in as good of a car that she has(2 more have started 12/13).

The first 35 laps was a crashfest including a ~10 car pileup in turn 1.

Qualifying on right now, Hinchcliff the quickest at the moment. Anyone see Sato's qualifying Laps? Almost kissed the wall on lap 2. The ragged edge just got little bit more ragged.

Surprised there weren't any posts between last week and today. Marco Andretti on pole it is then, for only the 3rd time in his career.

Live coverage of the Milwaukee IndyFest starts tomorrow at 4:00 PM EDT on NBC Sports Network!

Indycar to me is fast becoming the series to watch overall. Glad to see Hinch win on an oval.

I was at the race yesterday. Great race, Hinch checked out but there was plenty of action all over the track 👍

Hoping tomorrow's going to be a good race, and as much as I despise Pocono I did help shell out the money for tickets for my family.

Heading out early to hopefully be in time for autographs; I want Sato's, Kanaan's, and Franchiiti's; will attempt to get Helio's (for the female members of the family/friends that watched him when he was on Dancing With The Stars and won.)

Well that went brilliantly, didn't it?

Just got home from Church to see (is this correct) a wreck on lap 1?

Pocono - Qualifying.
Marco Andretti - beat the track record by 10 mph.
221 mph (355.67kmph)
:gtpflag:

What matters is max speed!
