...then I'm sure you'll be watching the next round from the track that may arguably be the most beautiful course in the South- Barber Motorsports Park. I've always loved Barber Motorsports Park for its challenge and its setting. Someone on here described it like a country club (as in golf). While the course was mostly created as a motorcycle racing venue, cars have had no problem delivering great racing around the course. Barber probably won't disappoint this coming weekend.

I saw most of the race at Long Beach. I was unfortunately too tired to see most of the first half of the race. Great action at Long Beach, as per usual.

Let me share some off-topic notes. I was rather stunned and surprised about this past weekend being the final Toyota Pro Celebrity Race. Alfonso Ribeiro (who you may know as Carlton on "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air"- one of my all-time favorite sitcoms) won the 40th ever Pro Celebrity Race around the streets of Long Beach. Max Papis was the Pro winner of the 2016 event. I thought this was a cool deal to have a race like this in the shadow of Los Angeles. Los Angeles. Celebrities. Quintessential combination. I read that since 1991, over $2.3M USD was donated to Racing for Kids. The first Pro Celebrity Race I remember seeing was back in 1999 or so when the cars were Toyota Celicas. Not the fire-breathing GT-Fours, mind you- but the handsome-looking newer (at its time) front-wheel drive Celicas like in Gran Turismo 2. The Pro Celebrity Race has been a great compliment to the whole Long Beach Grand Prix experience. It's sad this event has seen its sunset. If you would like to read more about this event, here is a piece on RACER.com: http://www.racer.com/north-american...o-ribeiro-wins-40th-toyota-pro-celebrity-race

Well, get ready for the Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama this weekend!

For the race this week

It's good seeing Coca Cola get on board with sponsorship, since they don't seem to really sponsor many motorsports worldwide, apart from Chip Ganassi in NASCAR and Indycar.

That is a lovely Coca-Cola car. Maybe the finest-looking Coca-Cola car other than the Coca-Cola liveried Porsche 962C back in the day in another discipline of motorsport.

So they've tweaked the rules to qualifying to prevent a repeat of last week, added electronic transponder gizmos for the pit blend line to prevent a repeat of last week......but no changes regarding short cuts. You still just get a warning for that

Be pretty neat if it rained. I can't remember if it was last year or the year before when it rained at Barber. But it was one of the coolest races I've seen. Anyone have the forecast?

No rain on raceday huh? Oh well. Thanks!

Kinda like the wheel LEDs that was experimented with, but surely there's a much less bulky way then literally putting light boxes on the wheels themselves.

I think this is more of IndyCar saying "This is what we want to work on" and not "This is our definite response". They had 5 days to think of something and they came out with an idea that has the absolute potential to work. Give them time to play with it.

Honda trying Chevy's ignition timing trick...and what do ya know, they actually have an engine in qualifying. Maybe this could save us from going back to spec aero.

Oh, trust me. I've loved Barber Motorsports Park ever since it opened. I thought (and still do) this track should host World Superbike and maybe even MotoGP if it hasn't hosted either series. This is a lovely course maybe 40-50 miles away from Talladega Superspeedway. If you haven't seen races at Barber Motorsports Park, I think you're going to enjoy Barber Motorsports Park once IndyCar takes on this world-class course in Alabama.

I wish Indycar and NASCAR worked together at scheduling races so that both races don't air at the same time. Because I follow NASCAR more, I'm gonna be watching it today. Which means I'm going to have to wait till tomorrow to watch the Indycar race when someone uploads it. Which means I can't root for my favorite driver in realtime. Oh well. What are you going to do...

The Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama will get the green flag later today. Hoping this race will be a great one. Good luck to all drivers and teams competing today.

I usually solve that problem with mah Dish app on my tablet. Have one race on one screen and the others race on the other screen (that or the laptop).

Considering how Leigh Diffey misses so many races due to F1 and now the Olympics, they might as well make Rick Allen the announcer for the first half of the season and perhaps have Bob Varsha for the second half of the season. OR, they could give Varsha the entire season if they get him out of his FOX contract. Don't get me wrong, I think that Diffey is a good commentator, but Indy really needs an announcing group that can be there every race weekend, not a rotating crew.

The 2016 Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama is GO! Let's get it on!

Dixon crosses over from the far right to the left under braking and cuts 2 cars off causing contact and the guy that he cut off gets the penalty.:irked:

Did Rahal hit Pagenaud or did Pagenaud cut across the front of Rahal. It would be great if the car behind had an onboard camera to tell.

No wait, the idiot in control of it is playing "do the helicopter" like a total tool, yet another piece of action missed by trying to be too clever.

So another race deciding call here and race control does nothing.

Aerodynamics takes care of it.

Correction. Rahal hit Hawksworth.

Looks like Pagenaud just made a ill advised block and cut across Rahal. No way Pagenaud was gonna make that block work. Doesn't matter now because Rahal's wing is damaged so its over for him.

Only an emoji can describe this:

Edit: Graham stop being salty about Honda.
