So the owner of Dragon Racing is arrested for breaking into a yacht club snd urinating on a woman's shoes... Don't know what to say...

Wait, what?

He could have been sleepwalking. Or possessed.

I'm struggling to see how that really could have been 'accidental'

And these guys are crying about $70,000 aero kits

Er, yes because spending crap loads of money on developing aerodynamics is exactly the same as Marco Andretti's inheritance. :dopey:

At a time when the series was struggling for cash and coverage already, was it really wise to introduce not only a new engine formula but change it so that teams could develop their own aerodynamics? Pretty obviously this a mass of expense laid at the teams' doorsteps.

I'm not surprised the teams complained and stuck with a spec series. I'm not surprised that they are now moaning that Dallara charge far too much money for parts. I'm not surprised they are bickering over engine regulations. It was going to happen.

It was a make or break move for Indycar and they've fallen back to a half-way house where the series isn't quite a spec-series but isn't really a constructors series either. Leaving it to once again wallow on life-support until manufacturers randomly take interest again or they leave and the series finally dies.

But of course, they're a bunch of whiners because Marco Andretti has a big house. Really everyone has crap loads of money and they're just having a laugh.

To be fair, Indycar really can't do anything right. If they remained a full spec-series they would have continued to be completely irrelevant to the rest of motorsport. If they had gone full-constructors half the teams wouldn't have survived and the series would have collapsed. (not to mention its debatable whether it really would have brought the interest back). This series just feels like its waiting for major investment and then it will decide where it will go. In the meantime it will get stuck in this weird limbo that keeps it alive but won't improve it because it costs money.

Even though I do think its good they have gone away from ovals...Indycar has almost lost one of its only attractions which was open-wheel oval racing. Now its just becoming yet another open-wheel championship for drivers that quit F1 or don't make it there. (well actually, its already been like that for a while..but now its barely got any ovals to make it different).

What a bunch of flying fools! To be sons of the captain..Who would have thought. They as total professionals would get wasted like that to do that. They'll get the pants suited off them once those girls figure out who they are rich folk.

No wonder Roger Penske keeps his distance. The Captain will take no 🤬.

Met James Hinchcliffe today at a local car show of all places, nice guy. :) Autograph line was pretty short though..

Awesome man, he's one of my favourite drivers in the series. It's always nice to know that the people you look up to are real stand up guys.

So, the top 15 drivers are all in contention for the championship, very close points championship indeed.

Massive fan of Hinch, I'm a Ganassi guy generally but he's brilliant in the car and on the mic....impersonating Formula 1 drivers.

Looking forward to Sonoma this weekend, I'm not a huge fan of the track, but it still should be an interesting race.

Only the top 4 have any real chance. Hinchcliffe or Pagenaud have a chance if they get really, really lucky.

Mathematically, Karthikeyan is still in "contention" for the F1 championship. But realistically, thats basically impossible.

Anything's possible in IndyCar.

:p

Tagliani is such an idiot.. Never have liked him..
I only heard about the incident via radio. All I could say is that "Tags" is an appropriate nickname.

Funny side-note. Hunter-Reay said in the radio post-race what he told Tagliani would get him in trouble with the FCC. Then he uses a curse word right after.

Really screwed up the championship battle when he did that.

I was hoping RHR could win the title this season.

Also, from what was said during the race coverage, AJ Foyt sounds interested in offering AJ Allmendinger a seat for next season.

Still a fantastic race though, nice to see Briscoe get a win, the rest of the season should be interesting, Will Power is good on road and street courses, and Baltimore is next, so I think he'll do well there, but then the oval in Fontana is after that, and RHR is good on those. I'm also probably the only person in the world who likes Indy Car way more than F1..

The ball is in Power's court. If he gets a good result in Baltimore, it probably won't matter what Hunter-Reay does at Fontana.

Nah, as much as I love F1, Champ/Cart/IndyCar has been #1 in my books for as long as I can remember :) Still remember watching the '94 Toronto Indy with my brother and just this year my gf got me tickets to the Toronto Indy for my birthday :D

Should be a good finish to the season after the tragic ending to last year :(

Power should win the championship with consistent results in the final 2 races, RHR would have to sweep max points at both and hope for an engine failure, or Tagliani, to help him win.

Power would have to completely capitulate at Fontana, which is a distinct possibility considering his prowess at the ovals. RHR needs to hope Power doesn't win and either get past him or at least keep him in his sights all day at Baltimore to have any chance of closing him down at the finale. They should really put at least another oval or two in the schedule next year, they're a real test and make for great spectacles.

On a slightly different tack to the ongoing discussion...

*sees Indycars Youtube channel has uploaded recent races in full for people who can't watch it live, presumably those being outside of the US.*

Ah awesome! I'll sit down and catch up on some Indycars! How kind of them to put races up on Youtube for those who can't watch it live in other countries!

*The uploader has not made this video available in your country. Sorry about that. :/*

:banghead:

Anyone else notice this?
