3 races and 2 first-time winners so far this season.

Props to Justin Wilson as well. No laps in qualifying and ends up finishing 3rd.
 
Nice to see Sato win. Is this the first Indy Car win for a Japanese driver?
 
I don't really follow the series, but after reading the news I just had to come here and share my joy. Always liked Sato and I'm very pleased to see him get this win at Long Beach. Doesn't replace Indianapolis' battle-for-the-win-ending-in-last-lap-crash from last year, but it is encouraging.

Good to see Takuma win finally, he's been knocking on the door for a while no and hopefully this leads to bigger and better things

His first win in single seaters since F3 in 2001. Since then in senior level single seaters: 146 starts in F1, FN and Indycar, 3 podiums, finally a win. đź‘Ť
 
Two first time winners this year already! I'm waiting on Kimbal, Pagenaud, and maybe Vautier to take their first win this year as well..
 
Great to see AJ Foyt racing get a win as well as Sato

Its early, but Sato is 2nd in points, just 6 off the lead
 
Three cheers to Takuma Sato finally picking up his first IndyCar win. I may not get NBC Sports Network, so I have to look to highlights and social media for news. Still great to see the ex-F1 racer get the losing monkey off his back.

And with that addition to the field, there are 30 cars currently entered for the 2013 Indianapolis 500.

This new car really hasn't done what they wanted it to do in terms of cost for teams, otherwise it's been perfect. Yes, the economic situation doesn't help either.

Could Run "The Double"​

Busch left open the door to compete in "The Double" - racing in the Indianapolis 500 and Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway on the same day - in the future.

"I am looking forward to this test and experiencing IMS at the speeds the Indy cars run," Busch said. "Let's see how the test goes, and then I can look at the opportunities that could be beyond this coming Thursday. Running the Indianapolis 500 would certainly be a highlight, and doing another 600 miles in a Cup car on the same day would make for a special weekend."

Also, Kurt Busch will test a car for Andretti a couple of days before the track officially opens.

I believe the commentators mentioned during today's race that IndyCars can reach 193 MPH using push-to-pass on the straight, and that this is the highest they reach on road courses. This brings into question the boast about "fastest drivers" because the statement is only true of the top speeds reached on large ovals and not of the cars' general performance. On a road course they not only fall short of fastest lap times in road racing but also short of top speeds. F1 cars lap faster and at the same time reaching higher speeds. 200-ish speeds are reached on several road courses and well over 200 at Monza. The highest F1 top-end speed at Monza was 231.5 MPH in 2005.

Hard to believe they cant get a deal with at least ESPN 2. Even one of the Fox Sports channels would be better. F1 was on Fox sports for a long time before it moved to speedTV
